One of our Festival highlights, you don't want to miss the Opening Concert on Sunday 10th August which officially kicks off our 2025 Festival in St. Patrick's Church of Ireland Cathedral. A spectacular celebration of local and international talent, featuring the award-winning Miskelly Chorale from Co. Down. Winners at this year’s Bangor International Choral Festival, the choir has developed an enviable reputation for high standards in choral singing since its formation in 2012. Skilled in performing a range of styles, under the direction of Edwin Gray BEM, audiences can expect a treat. They will be joined by Sophie-Véronique Cauchefer-Choplin – renowned French organist and improviser, and the first woman to be appointed Titular Organist of the Grand Organ at Saint-Sulpice in Paris. Music to include Rutter’s When Daisies Pied, Lauridsen’s Sure On This Shining Night, Widor’s dazzling Toccata from Symphony No. 5 and improvisations on a selected theme.
