I had the pleasure of receiving the leadership of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Kaduna State Chapter, led by its Chairman, Mr. Auwalu Sarki, on a courtesy visit at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, Kaduna. The visit provided an opportunity for constructive engagement and reflection on our shared responsibility to strengthen the institutions that safeguard justice, accountability, and democratic order. I deeply appreciate the Union’s acknowledgment of our administration’s approval of nearly One Billion Naira for the settlement of outstanding entitlements owed to judiciary workers. This intervention, though undertaken within the constraints of a challenging fiscal environment and competing obligations, reflects our conviction that governance must remain anchored on fairness, responsibility, and respect for labour. Accordingly, we approved the payment of two months’ salary arrears for April and May 2021 inherited from the previous administration, Leave Grants for the years: 2023, 2024, and 2025, as well as the long-overdue Robe and Outfit Allowance. I commended judiciary workers for their indispensable contribution to the administration of justice and the preservation of public trust in our institutions. Our administration remains committed to improving staff welfare, modernising judicial infrastructure, and sustaining cordial collaboration between the Executive and the Judiciary in pursuit of a more just, orderly, and prosperous Kaduna State.
