Going reseeding 24 acres of silage ground in next month ,thinking of putting out some oats with fert spreader before grass seed to add bit of bulk initially for silage crop …also to try smoothed weeds ..anyone do it before 🤔🤔

@bryanjdaniels If you've WiFi where the fencer is just put in a smart plug and your able to turn it on/off or even off for a certain period of time and automatically come back on. It's a game changer

@JerryMoloney1 @bryanjdaniels @sprinkles785 @rayofoghlu If you want another opinion, from what I've read dandelions are usually a sign of low calcium in a soil. Also thrive in a high N and high K environment along with compacted soils.

@bryanjdaniels @sprinkles785 @rayofoghlu Hence why I was looking for an agronomist …..few people outlined issues as to why there is so many of them from low k to low ph…neither are an issue sward is unproductive as is ,dandelions took it over

Anyone point me in direction of good agronomist …burnt off with roundup week ago …dandelions still green ….thinking of going with d50🤔….really dry ground …not big amount soil ..ph not an issue ..indexes 3/4…grass reseed

@ashleighfen Only on 7.2mm here since the 14th june. You have to go back to 27th may before we've had a cumulative amount that breaks 50mm, but I'm sure we'll be back on track in no time 🙈

9mm in total since the 14th of June which is a month ago now, about 10 drops last night...hard to see where 50mm is coming from!!

@fairleigh_ag @DeLaval Keep an eye on the 1st robots on the concentrates line. If the cows prioritise that robot it could empty before the motor kicks in to fill it back up. You can increase that hopper size or decrease the size of the hopper at the motor to help

3rd milking in for the first 20 cows,no turning back now. Cows have taken to it remarkably well. Will build the herd up over the coming weeks. Been a long,hard slog from planning to milking,but we're finally here. Huge effort from all involved. @DeLaval

@TaeSavesLives Correct me if I'm wrong but as a young trained farmer I can't claim TAMS to put in a 2nd robot that would allow me to milk more than 75 cows but I could claim on a conventional parlour and potentially milk 160 cows 🤷‍♂️

For reasons I can't fathom, TAMS may include a block on small/medium farmers (70-120) from accessing support for a piece of tech that's proven to reduce antibiotic use, improve feet and give more data on cow health, the only ones this condition applies to farmersjournal.ie/tams-iii-artif…
