Can I get an F for the fallen stop sign and the fallen pedestrian sign? They were both run over this morning by drivers. It's wild that we continue spending money on roads for cars when cars clearly aren't safe to use in winter.

@TheCritninja So the 5a network specifies lights, iirc. For example, the memorial pathway is being (ever so gradually) upgraded to lit pathways. But why can't they do this without having to pull teeth?

two things: why are street lights directed onto roads instead of onto sidewalks? cars have headlights, people don't this is how many people feel when using our city's pathway system at night. why is there no plan to add lighting to key sections of that network? #yyccc #5A

@RichmondRCMP On that note, @RichmondRCMP, how many drivers to whom you gave a warning or a break went on to hit a pedestrian? How many if those could you have taken off of the road had they not been given a break?

@RichmondRCMP Yeah, pedestrian safety is not a two-way street. It is about drivers killing pedestrians, not the other way around. Enforce the law (ticket distraction and speeding and failing to stop) and do not "give the drivers a break" and maybe we'll have fewer dead bodies on the road.

Breaking; there was a vote in the House of Commons just now to scrap Trudeau's carbon taxes. Only Conservatives fought to make life more affordable for Canadians by voting to axe the tax. Liberal and NDP MP's chose higher prices, higher taxes and more inflation by voting to keep the taxes. Only Conservatives will end Trudeau's cost of living crisis.
