The Conservatives have dropped a new 11-page amendment to Bill 212. 
We'll be debating the amendment in committee this afternoon, and we're reviewing it now. 
We think the amendment does the following; - - Doesn't require the government to pay all the city’s expenses to remove the bike lanes - Won’t reimburse municipalities for the cost of installing the lanes in the first place - Bans people from taking the Government to court for its decision to remove bike lanes, including any individuals who are injured or killed due to a collision between a bike and a vehicle - Approves the removal of the entirety of the Bloor St bike lane - Bans municipalities from installing a bike lane on any road or street, including side streets, without provincial approval if a lane of vehicle traffic is removed - Directs the provincial minister to remove the Bloor, Yonge and Avenue Road bike lanes themselves, without municipal action.   Would appreciate your take. #Onpoli

It seems like @MayorOliviaChow is going to introduce some type of item that outlines the city's response to our local democracy being overridden. There must be firm resistance to Bill 212. If the province gets its way, no municipal decision is safe: transit, sidewalks, housing.

#yyccc in a nutshell: Sell public parks to private developers. Close local pools & increase taxes to pay for new arena. Increase crime by cutting safety & mental health funding. Increase utility bills during affordability crisis by debt financing essential infrastructure.

A new sign at the Peace Bridge today indicating that the Bow River pathway is closed along Memorial Drive, in the red part. No mention of why or for how long but guessing it'll be for a couple weeks at least? Probably some landscaping/repairs or similar. #yyc #yyctraffic

The fact that the 401, 400, DVP, QEW, Gardiner (and many more) are regularly a bump-to-bumper standstill, and that none of them have bike lanes, should make it clear that bike lanes and bicycles are not the problem. #TOpoli #ONpoli #BikeTO

In this day and age, why is soundproofing between attached dwellings considered a luxury? Seems incongruous to me that we strive to increase density without addressing such issues.

@paininc @jasmine_mian Yes this is the 311 fatigue I’m talking about. Tickets being closed with no explanation or no demonstrated handoff to the responsible dept adds to the perception that the City isn’t listening.

Calgary seems overly dependent on 311 crowdsourcing issues from residents who are tired of 311’ing everything. My suggestion is bylaw should be issued e-bikes and begin regular patrols of pathways and in the process they’ll discover where the problem areas are. 👍
