@AaronBower And just that fixture and the horse race. Us and Wigan should have copyrighted it really and charged the football boys accordingly 😅

@Firetruck_125 Want to drive around as fast as possible? Go to a track day at Silverstone, Brands Hatch or the like. 50 on a road like that is plenty. Go slower and enjoy the scenary.

@yaakovkatz Him and Smotrich do seem to be proper wild cards in the Knesset. Would a bigger Likud majority allow Netanyahu to put them on the sidelines and possibly improve Israel's image in the world?

Jews don’t celebrate death - we sanctify life. Whatever your view on the death penalty, breaking open champagne to celebrate a law that takes life is fundamentally anti-Jewish. Many already understand this. Others will, in time. One day we will look back at Ben Gvir’s tenure and feel ashamed that we allowed something so corrosive into the sanctuary of power in Israel.

Reform wins… and still gets blocked? Drakeford says Labour, Plaid, and the Greens would join forces to shut them out. Is that democracy working? It’s like a football team finishing first, but the others team up after the final whistle to stop them getting the trophy.

Another picture to get under the skin of the anti Wetherspoon's brigade. This afternoon, there was a manager's special, on the afternoon special menu. Fish, Chips and Mushy Peas, with a soft drink. £4.87. The fish was decent and I've had a lot worse for a lot more money.

Plenty of hysteria around Restore Britain's policy on banning the burqa. Misinformation is rife, and I want to officially correct the record. We'd ban the niqab too.

John Snow seems to be England’s great forgotten strike bowler. He played 49 Tests between 1965 and 1976, taking 202 wickets at an average of 26.66 and economy rate of 2.68. In his 4 series against Australia, Snow was the leading England wicket-taker 3 times, and at home in 1968, he was 2nd. EW Swanton wrote that he “had not seen an Englishman bowl either faster or better than Snow at Sydney since Tyson”. Perhaps his career and achievements deserve a bit more recognition?

Might be in the minority but I have no idea why anyone would want Southampton in the play-offs/PL over Wrexham. Southampton do it every year, and come back down every year. It's boring. At least with Wrexham it's new, and they would actually give the Prem a go

@DanW2Capital @JoblessMick @J_J_Burke Work's underway on the new stand which will eventually add 7.5k to the capacity (about 18k overall). Then we're looking at rebuilding the Yale Stand (the one in the picture) so that'll add a bit more where possible. At least it's not a soulless identikit out of town ground.

German is so funny to me. Yes he cannot play football because section 8(1) of the Jugendarbeitsschutzgesetz says he can’t.
Ajoje⚽⚖️@israel_ajoje

Remember Leonard Prescott? Bayern's 16 year old goalkeeper that will be featuring for them tomorrow night? Bayern Munich need a government permit to play him tomorrow. Not a football permit. A labour law permit. Welcome to the world of Sports Lawyers.. Leonard Prescott cannot legally play at 9pm in Germany. He is 16. The law says under-18s are to stop work at 8pm. Bayern are currently applying for a special exemption for him tho. I always say that sports law does not exist in a vacuum. Wednesday night is the proof. Because right now Bayern Munich are not just dealing with a goalkeeping crisis. They are dealing with a labour law collision that nobody saw coming. Under Section 8(1) of Germany's Jugendarbeitsschutzgesetz, minors under 18 are prohibited from working after 8pm. The Champions League match against Atalanta kicks off at 9pm and ends around 11pm. Prescott cannot legally participate without a special exemption permit from the relevant trade supervisory authority. That permit also requires consent from both parents, his pediatrician and his school before it can be approved. According to @Gazpachen Bayern are currently processing that application. If the permit is approved, German law then requires a minimum of 12 hours uninterrupted rest before his next working period. So the day after a potential Champions League debut, a 16-year-old legally cannot be asked to train before midday. Hope you have learned something today. My name is Ajoje. I am a FIFA Licensed Agent and International Sports Lawyer. I write on the Law and Business of Football, a lot. Repost and Follow if you want to read more posts like this. #FCB #UCL #Bayern

@aaron_p_edwards @RestoreBritain_ Actually the state can because we elect it, so it's more relevant than a book written two millenniums ago about a daydream someone had back then. Britain's abortion laws are fine. Don't like 'em? There's flights to the USA every day.

A good start. But just a start. If killing unborn children after 24 weeks should be illegal, then so should killing unborn children before 24 weeks. The state cannot play God by deciding when a human being becomes valuable enough not to be murdered in the womb. God invented humans; God gave humans their inherent value as humans; God decides when even the littlest unseen humans begin to matter: from the start. While many would see the idea of abolishing abortion as "a political impossibility" today, I hope and pray that @RestoreBritain_ will in time come to see that the same moral courage they have shown on so many other "politically impossible" issues, must be applied to abortion too. We are truly sick of moral half-measures. If unborn children are not real humans, then why not just allow people to kill them up to birth as if they were little more than a housefly? At least that would be consistent. But if they truly are humans created in God's image, then we have no right to declassify their human value at the behest of our personal or political convenience. If we are to be a decent society, we have a duty to the most vulnerable people among us. Right now, those little people are most in danger from the very laws that should be in place to protect them. This absolutely must change. I would love to see @RestoreBritain_ become the first major political party in British history to not only challenge the greatest moral injustice of our time, but to rid it from our country altogether, and set an example to other nations to follow.
