Where is the outage? Today the demonic Islamic regime executed 3 young men. Their crime was “moharebe”, enmity against God. One of those was Saleh Mohammadi, a wrestling champion. Hosios Loukas (10th-11th century, Greece) - often considered one of the most refined examples of Byzantine church architecture. The interior is heavily decorated with beautiful mosaics and marble panels. Gold backgrounds, large figures, and structured compositions define the space. It's also interesting the difference between the great Byzantine architectural church tradition and Armenian. Armenian architecture compresses detail into sharp edges and stone - intricate carvings, endless patterns, almost microscopic precision. Here, in the Byzantine world, the approach is different. The detail is spread across space. Light, gold, large compositions. Byzantine churches also typically use rounded domes - smooth, continuous, almost soft in shape. Armenian churches use conical, sharply pointed domes - more vertical, more defined, almost like a geometric spike. Two interesting different architectural traditions, both are complex - but in different ways.
