@lemortegames @thejackhopkins Right. The SS would not clear rooftops with line of sight? Why allow him to pop up like that? If bullets were flying in his direction, wouldn't they also hit people behind him? And why did they let that photographer get so close in an active shooter situation? I'm confused.

This was far too reminiscent of the event we later learned was, in fact, staged by Trump when he returned from the hospital to the White House after having been hospitalized with COVID.
There he was, still wearing his mask...on the balcony of the White House...pausing to make sure the press was set up and in position....and then....swwissshh...the mask is ripped off in an incredibly dramatic fashion...he juts his chin up in the air...and then stands there...in defiance...working the cameras.
I still cringe as I recall that moment.
When Ronald Reagan was shoved into the car so fast and hard after he had been shot, he thought the pain he had felt might have been a cracked rib from being manhandled so roughly.
The Secret Service allowed Trump to expose himself for so long while still on stage, pumping his fist and showing a very angry-looking face... and it just doesn't add up, in my opinion.
The Secret Service allowed his entire head, neck, and torso to be exposed for 5, 6, and then 6-7 seconds, respectively, as he looked into the crowd and, at times, raised his fist in the air. Watch the video and see for yourself.
I know of no situation in which this would be a protocol for Secret Service Agents who are attempting to evacuate someone they are protecting from the scene where an active shooting just took place.
Even if other agents had radioed that a shooter had been killed, they would still have no way of verifying that there were no other shooters somewhere in the crowd, or that no explosives were on site...that the dogs and EOD had missed beforehand, or someone had made their way in with after the location had already been checked.
At all costs, you cover the head, neck, and torso. No exceptions. When you move the person you are protecting, they are walked, bent over, with agents both protecting and guiding their head with their hands...and not allowing their head to rise for any reason.
Clearly, two people are dead. There were shots fired and people killed. I don't think there is any reason to dispute that.
There are, however, elements of this that don't immediately add up. Maybe later, they will. However, I'm not sure what I could learn that would make them having allowed the full exposure of his head, neck, and torso for several seconds at a time...that would find me saying, "Ohhhhh, okay. Yeah. That makes sense. Thanks."
