Robinhood launched a blockchain to tokenize stocks. The pitch was clear: bring traditional finance onchain, make it cheap and fast. Nice idea. Then memecoins showed up. Since July 1, the chain pulled in $135M and 800k addresses. Almost none of it is doing what the chain was built for. The lesson is as old as crypto: you can design infrastructure for one thing, but users will use it for whatever is hot. The chain is just a pipe. The demand came from speculation, not efficiency. It's not the first time. Ethereum was built for a world computer - then ICOs and NFTs. Solana was for scaling - then memes and airdrops. Robinhood is just the latest. The real question isn't what the chain can do. It's what people actually want to do with it. And right now, it's memes.

30 First of all, I want to thank everybody for taking a few seconds of your life to give me your best wishes. Internet was supposed to keep us connected, but in reality we are losing real connection day by day. And sometimes complete strangers feel closer than friends. If I have to think about my first 30 years on Earth I feel a great mix of emotions. Happiness, remorse, pride, guilt and so on. I could've done so much more and yet I've done quite some things. I always felt like equilibrium is the final state of success in life. I don't believe people that say they have no regrets as much as I don't believe people that say they wasted their life. There might be exceptions, ofcourse, but mostly I think we are actively developing our story based on both good and bad experiences. Each counts in its own way, although I'd say we have the tendency to actually learn more from the latter. I'm not sure how long I'll be here, truth is life in itself is not an exact science and all I hope is I'll enjoy the rest of my stay as much as possible, in my own way. I want to achieve great things, to leave my mark, but at the same time I know I'm just another guy trying to figure out what the hell we doing here, so I try not to be so hard on myself. Anyway, some random thoughts running thru my head at this moment. For some an important milestone, for others just another trip around the sun.
