On the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference 2026, H.E. Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Manara Center for Coexistence and Dialogue, met with Jonathan Greenblatt, CEO of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). The meeting reaffirmed the longstanding strategic partnership between the Manara Center and ADL, grounded in shared efforts to counter hate in all its forms, regardless of its source or target, and to advance dialogue and education as foundations for sustainable coexistence. During the Munich Security Conference 2026, H.E. Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Manara Center for Coexistence and Dialogue, held a bilateral meeting with Ambassador Rabbi Yehuda Kaploun, U.S. Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism. The meeting explored avenues to deepen international cooperation in advancing mutual understanding, promoting responsible public discourse, and reinforcing shared commitments to coexistence. Marking its first participation at the Munich Security Conference, the Manara Center for Coexistence and Dialogue convened a high-level side event titled “Together Against Extremism: Prevention Strategies in Bavaria and the UAE to Combat Islamist Radicalization.” Organized in collaboration with the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior, Sports and Integration, the session brought together leaders and policymakers to examine comprehensive strategies for preventing radicalization and addressing extremism at its roots. In his statement speech, H.E. Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Manara Center, emphasized that we are confronting a war of ideas, and if we seek lasting peace, we must invest in minds first. He underscored that education is the most powerful tool to protect societies, promote coexistence, and defeat extremism at its foundations. In his opening remarks, H.E. Joachim Herrmann, Bavarian Minister of State for the Interior, Sports and Integration, stressed the need to take the accelerating risks of radicalization very seriously, noting that only a holistic approach can address root causes and safeguard societies from intolerance and violence. Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Manara Center for Coexistence and Dialogue, delivered remarks at the Munich Security Conference 2026 side event, “Democracy Under Siege: Building Resilience Against Toxic Narratives and Foreign Influence.” The side event was hosted by the Conference of European Rabbis, the Abraham Accords Institute for Peace and Regional Integration, and the International Charlemagne Prize of Aachen, and explored strategies for strengthening resilience against destructive ideologies, combating hate speech, and addressing harmful narratives. Dr. Al Nuaimi emphasized that the primary threat we face today lies in the spread of destructive ideologies and narratives. He highlighted the UAE’s effective approach to countering this challenge through trust-building dialogue, values-based education, and firm legal frameworks that reject hate. By altering destructive narratives today, we can shape the future. This approach is not idealism; it is a sound and strategic response. Peace through dialogue is the only path that we should invest in #MSC2026

Ms. Bakhita Al Remeithi, Executive Director of the Manara Center for Coexistence and Dialogue, participated in the session “Role of Women in Countering Terrorism and Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (PCVE)”, jointly organized by the Federal National Council and the PAM Women Parliamentary Forum.   In her remarks, Ms. Al Remeithi highlighted that women are not only stakeholders, but also powerful leaders in preventing extremism and violent extremism. She stressed that when women are empowered as agents of prevention rather than subjects of exploitation, they become trusted voices capable of shaping meaningful change. Emphasizing the strength of counter-narratives that emerge from within communities, she noted that positioning women as owners of national messaging plays a critical role in building resilience, strengthening social cohesion, and safeguarding societies from the ideological polarization advanced by extremist organizations. شاركت السيدة بخيته الرميثي، المدير التنفيذي لـمركز منارة للتعايش والحوار، في جلسة «دور المرأة في مكافحة الإرهاب ومنع ومكافحة التطرف العنيف»، التي نُظِّمت بشكل مشترك من قبل المجلس الوطني الاتحادي ومنتدى البرلمانيات التابع للجمعية البرلمانية للبحر الأبيض المتوسط.   وخلال مداخلتها، أكدت السيدة الرميثي أن المرأة ليست مجرد طرف معني، بل شريك قيادي فاعل في الوقاية من التطرف والإرهاب، مشددة على أهمية تمكينها لتكون عامل وقاية لا أداة استغلال. كما أبرزت دور النساء كحاملات لروايات مضادة تنبع من داخل المجتمعات لا من خارجها، وبوصفهن صاحبات دور في صياغة الرسائل الوطنية. وأشارت إلى أن هذا النهج الشامل يسهم في بناء مناعة مجتمعية راسخة، ويحول دون الانزلاق إلى الاستقطاب الأيديولوجي الذي تروّج له التنظيمات المتطرفة.

In March 2025, the United Nations reaffirmed peaceful coexistence as a global priority, underscoring a shared belief that dialogue, understanding, and human connection remain our strongest tools in an increasingly complex world. This recognition reflects a growing global awareness that sustainable peace is built not only through policies, but through values that bring people closer rather than push them apart.  
At Manara Center for Coexistence and Dialogue, we see peaceful coexistence as a living practice; cultivated through education, open dialogue, and a deep respect for human dignity. Dr. Ali Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the #Manara_Center_for_Coexistence_and_Dialogue, delivered the keynote address at the panel discussion “Can Interfaith Diplomacy Redefine Global Peace and Cooperation”, jointly organized by Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy and the Abrahamic Family House, on 21 January 2026. In his remarks, Dr. Al Nuaimi underscored that interfaith diplomacy reaches where traditional diplomacy often cannot, speaking to conscience as much as to policy. He highlighted the unique responsibility of faith leaders and moral authorities in building trust across divides, transforming difference into understanding, and restoring dialogue as a living force for peace. It was a pleasure for #Manara_Center_for_Coexistence_and_Dialogue to engage with Master’s students in Urbanism from Sorbonne University Paris, France. The discussion explored coexistence, the role of youth in peacebuilding, and how inclusive urban development depends on social trust, dialogue, and community-led approaches. We presented Manara’s work and the broader coexistence ecosystem in the UAE, highlighting how youth engagement, education, and cross-cultural dialogue contribute to building resilient and cohesive societies. We were especially proud to have our Ambassador of Coexistence, Hadiza, share insights from her initiative Ubuntu for Peace, demonstrating how community-based urban development can strengthen belonging, foster social cohesion, and support sustainable peace.
