Saturday was oath-taking day at Brigade Parade Ground. • Newly elected MLAs were naturally busy with excitement over ministerial posts. • But Santu Pan was busy arranging treatment for an injured BJP worker. • He had left Tarakeswar early in the morning. • The entire day went in meetings, rallies and political discussions. • By then, he should have been home taking some rest. • Just a few hours later, he had to attend oath ceremony at Brigade. • For a newly elected MLA, being present there was important. • Yet he was running around inside SSKM Trauma Care. • He was arranging treatment for a seriously injured BJP worker from Tarakeswar. • From speaking with doctors to handling every arrangement, he was personally looking after everything. • This is what makes Santu Pan different. • He entered politics only about one and a half months ago. • He won election just four days ago. • But power and position did not make him forget his promise to stand beside people. • To truly change society, this is exactly the kind of politics people need.
