@Apogee_Ent group or single entity? Either way: Group: House of the Dead 2 common enemies Single Enemy: Judgement (concept), Magician (appearance and movement\attack style) both also from House of the Dead 2 and that game isn't remotely in my favorites, I just think it is underrated.

@The_Dark_Tacan @luireigns normally goldberg jokes would be funny but Goldberg had no power in WCW and Bret recognized that multiple times. The rest of the list is pretty accurate. It is always funny seeing him talk about Hogan and Bischoff for example.

One of the most annoying aspects of centralized AI services and people thinking you need to use them that bled into other services is "credits". You wanna download a youtube video? gotta use credits in parasitical websites that already offer a borderline illegal service anyway.

King Piccolo was treated like shit as a kid. Freeza inherited everything and never received a "no". Cell was brainwashed into thinking he was biologically superior to everything. Buu was anthropomorphized nuclear bomb made by a guy who wanted to compensate his lack of raw power.

Your Netflix "4K" stream and a 4K disc put the same number of pixels on your screen. But the disc version of a two-hour movie is about 70 gigabytes. The stream is about 14. Same pixels, roughly five times less data filling them. You see it first in dark scenes. The stream doesn't have enough data to tell dark grey from black, so your TV just mashes it all into chunky blocks. Then you notice sunsets looking like a paint-by-numbers, with visible stripes where smooth color should be. Film grain is probably the biggest casualty. Directors add that slightly textured look on purpose to make movies feel cinematic. Streaming compression reads it as noise and wipes it. That's where the weirdly plastic, waxy look on a good OLED comes from. One comparison I can't stop thinking about. A regular 1080p Blu-ray (the older HD format, not even 4K) pushes about 40 megabits of data per second to fill 2 million pixels. A 4K stream pushes 15-25 to fill 8 million pixels. Four times the pixels. Less data. A plain HD disc from 2008 can look sharper than a brand new 4K stream. Sound is worse. Netflix sends "Dolby Atmos" audio at about 768 kilobits per second, compressed, with parts of the original permanently deleted. A disc sends TrueHD Atmos at up to 18,000, lossless, nothing removed. Up to 23x more sound data. If dialogue sounds flat when you're streaming, that's not your speakers. Netflix is getting better at this. As of late 2025, 30% of their streaming runs on a newer compression method called AV1, the same picture at a third less data. They also strip film grain out before compressing, then rebuild it on your TV during playback. Saves over a third on file size for most content, and up to two-thirds for really grainy movies. The rebuilt grain looks solid. The tradeoff won't go away, though. Netflix has to deliver a file that works over spotty rural Wi-Fi and gigabit fiber, adjusting quality frame by frame to whatever your connection can handle. A disc reads plastic. Same quality every time.

My problem with anyone celebrating anything in Half Life 2 is that the earth was already drained of natural resources, we don't even know if the planet has enough water to sustain tropical or temperate life forms.

@omarsbigsister the purpose of the bunkers is not for an apocalypse, it is for temporary shielding during rioting and to prevent a mob from executing them in the public square. They fully expect the military to be ordered to defend them and open fire on citizens, which frankly would happen.

my thing with the billionaire bunkers is that, how long do they plan on just staying underground? they sincerely believe they are not a part of the global ecosystem and will be fine with a scorched earth for the rest of us. that's gonna hurt you too, honey!!

@LumpyTheCook Most recent example that pissed me off is Aquiris, a indie brazilian game studio that got a lot of attention by bringing back early 90s talent back into the gaming business with Horizon Chase, then sold itself to Epic Games, and now all their games are being pulled from Steam.

@LumpyTheCook nonsense, Indie devs need to stop selling their studios to big companies, even if that big company promises not to interfere creatively. They will interfere in schedule, they will interfere with budget, they will interfere with marketing. Crowdfunding is a way better option.

Western studio games will never reach the heights they did from the early 1990s to the early 2010s again because there is a series of massive industry-wide mechanisms which exist specifically to prevent studio structures like this from existing anymore.

The main character also inherited what made him famous, but he knew how to do maintenance of his armored suit. That also echoes what a lot of conservative guys think of themselves by knowing how to do the bare minimum with anything (business\property) given to them by their dad.

Powergirl Jaina Proudmoore was the first woman the main character interacts with and she has immediate interest in him despite him having no noticeable attractiveness. That baited out the conservatives into liking the game for it's portrayal of hot white women being into "losers"

I’ve been screaming about this for years - if the left in europe refuses to capitalise on American decline by pushing for decoupling from the US - as a core foreign policy pitch on their agenda - then the right eventually will. It’s a perfect popular argument to couple with class conscious politics - european sovereignty and an independent path. It ticks all the principled AND practical boxes and will only grow in popularity.

Steam’s biggest advantage is not being a public company. If they were, shareholders would demand they make the same idiotic policies that would destroy their company.
