After 14years in Germany, I’m back in my beloved Bangalore with bigger dreams than I initially left with 🤩 If you’re building something in automotive or anything tech really, I have a decade of R&D experience & expertise at Mercedes, let’s talk! DMs open.

Hello TL, a couple of weeks ago, when Bookworm was flooded, someone had posted a map of Bengaluru marking the areas that are prone to flooding/water logging. I forgot to bookmark it and can’t find it anymore. Anyone know which map I’m talking about and can share it again? Thanks!🙏🏽

World famous Bhatkala Mallige of Uttara Kannada, known for its strong fragrance, and used in all auspicious occasions for the past 400 years. Namadhari and Navayath marriages aren't complete if brides jade and grooms basinga hasn't been adorned with these flowers!

@SrinagarGirl @ManeeManjunath I have never seen a point in contesting which mango is better. It is one fruit that is like religion - to each, his/her variety is the best. I have eaten nearly all varieties of mangoes in India and found each to have its own character. I love them all

Don’t be shocked as petrol/diesel prices got hiked by ₹3 and a few paise more, citing losses to oil companies. It was quiet, no noise, but enough hints were there to prep up citizens. But the moot question is: how many times have oil companies reduced prices when they were making windfall profits while crude traded around $40 per barrel?

@V4Cloudy What happens after they are caught? Are they prosecuted? What happens with the ill-begotten wealth? Are they fired for abusing their power?

Everyday there’s a report of some government employee’s amassing of corrupt wealth. Today it’s a mining office. From peon to the officer, bribery is unchecked and flourishing in our government offices. Nothing has been done to tackle this drain on the common man.

BIG CORRUPTION EXPOSED : ₹30,000 bribe trap leads to a shocking recovery of ₹4+ Crore cash from a Mining Officer in Bhubaneswar. What started as a small bribe investiaation turned into one of the biagest cash seizures in the mining department.

Alphonso is overrated because every artificially flavoured mango thing is based on alphonso's taste- doesn't matter if it's candy or ice cream. Human nature is such that anything can be ruined by making it too popular/mainstream. We have an endless yearning for novelties!
Manasa Manjunath@ManeeManjunath

Having only every eaten Alphonso growing up, I believed mango to be an overrated fruit. Was only very recently introduced to Banganpalli & Himam Pasand and my god! I have wasted 30+years of my life!! Alphonso is just entry level of India mangoes.

Whoever says Banganapalli is better than Alphonso is either straight up lying or has no taste. Alphonso's richness and taste are unmatched. The best of all. The king of all mangoes. I said what I said!

@_presentplus I don’t have any more details. I was a kid. I ate what I was given and when I didn’t like it I stopped eating it. Didn’t bother beyond it because there was always Jackfruit and I really liked Jackfruit.

Let me explain 30years only Alphonso, the last 14years I was out of the country with . Before that as a kid(late 90s, early 00s), we only ever got Alphonso. I was a fussy eater so when I didn’t like it a couple of times, I stopped eating mango. Yes, I know! Super idiotic of me but that’s teens for you!

@so_haill That’s a question to ask other Maharashtrians. Although, most supermarkets must stock the popular ones? Try Namdharis if you have one close to you. They stock multiple varieties.

Indian roads are not run by law anymore. They are run by fear and roadside extortion. My driver was returning from UP to Maharashtra in our MH registered commercial car during wedding season because railway tickets were unavailable. At MP border before Samriddhi Expressway, RTO officers stopped him. They checked every paper. Everything was perfectly valid. Then suddenly they changed the game. They said: Your licence is illegal. Commercial vehicle needs TR licence. You have NT licence. My driver told them Supreme Court guidelines clearly allow LMV licence holders to drive commercial vehicles under 7500 kg. He even showed them legal updates and news reports on his phone. They did not care. Instead they started threatening him: We will challan you. Suspend your licence. Take your licence to court. Then came the real reason for stopping him. One officer quietly said: Give 1500 rupees and leave. He paid 1000 and was allowed to go. This is the reality of Indian highways. If all papers are correct they create confusion. If confusion fails they create fear. If fear works they collect cash. And thousands of drivers pay because fighting corruption costs more time and money than bribing the system itself. How many people face this unofficial toll tax every single day in India?
