You allied with the DMK @arivalayam to contest the Assembly elections. How does the defeat of the DMK-led alliance become that of the DMK alone? The DMK stood by @INCIndia in its lowest times. You have 9 sitting MPs in the Lok Sabha on the strength of the DMK led alliance in the last parliamentary elections. The life of this Lok Sabha term is until 2029. So where do lie the political loyalties of these MPs who were elected on the strength of the alliance with the DMK? And is this not putting tremendous pressure on existing norms of legislatures in our federal democracy?

The verdict has gone against the DMK government. Half the ministers in the Cabinet have lost their seats. We faced collateral damage for no fault of ours. Now, BJP is eyeing Tamil Nadu. The question before us is clear: Should we stand with those rejected by the people’s verdict, or should we unite with the force that fought against BJP and fight to stop BJP from ruling Tamil Nadu? #Tamilnadu

We expect our political representatives not to speak in Hindi, not out of hatred for the language, but as a mark of resistance against decades of Hindi imposition and in respect for the sacrifices Tamils made to safeguard our mother tongue.

Whether in Kerala, Tamil Nadu or Bengal, the first lesson of any election analysis is not to attack the voter. Instead, try to understand why they voted in the way they did, and learn and adapt.

Brahmin representation in Tamil Nadu politics exposed: DMK – 0 AIADMK – 0 Congress – 0 BJP – 0 Not a single ticket given. Only Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) gave 2 tickets to Brahmin candidates And both are on track to win. This is what real inclusion looks like. Merit over selective politics.
