Juvenile Brown Cuckoo-dove (Macropygia phasianella) came in to our perches on a bit of a grey day .. perfect for snuggling up with a tripod and doing some low-light photography #Sydney#Australia#WildOz
My landlord was a famous actor, who weirdly oversaw all maintenance himself. Whenever he showed up, boiler, window lock, sticky door issues, I would always pretend I had no idea he was famous. When I moved out he said "do you really not know who I am?" Worth it.
I'm over halfway now and picking up speed! Here's three fluffed up Double-barred Finches for your Wednesday night 😀 #birdart#drawing#birds#illustration
This magnificent beast is a Pilbara endemic: the Pilbara Cave gecko (Heternotia spelea). While Heternotia are generally regarded among herpetologists as "the best geckos", H. spelea is usually considered as one of the "best of the best". #herping#wildoz#gecko#hetlyf#Hetisbest
Big drive yesterday & landed in Parkes for some real work. Of course the camera accompanied me - lucky too.
Some breathtaking birb watching is a pure bonus. Details in the Alt-text as usual.

These beautiful parrots are critically endangered and are one of only three migratory parrot species in the world. #WorldMigratoryBirdDay#birds#WildOz
80 percent of the dingo trouble comes from the "tailor run" crowd, who scale and gut their catch on the beach, and throw the waste to the dingoes. And it's constant, year-round.
NOT A SNAKE! This really beautiful little creature called a Delma. They're related to geckos, are almost limbless and are cute as buttons, either as a baby (left) or as a big stonking adult (right). #wildoz
While the #Pilbara is an OK birding destination, the best thing about the joint (and indeed many places) is the lizards. This particularly handsome species is the Spotted Ctenotus (Ctenotus uber). They love the heavy soils & hard country. Great lizards, cute as a button! #wildoz
Lots and lots of the worlds best bird: the budgerigar. They were coming in to a drying water hole- by the end of the survey the water was gone and so were the birds. No more finches, budgies or chats.
