I feel the need to remind people of the state of the PS3 in 2012, 1 year before the PS4 launched:
-500GB model was STILL $300
-USB & SD Ports REMOVED
-Backwards Compatibility REMOVED
-Disc Drive was Cheap and manual to open
-The CPU had 2, and the GPU 3, major die shrinks
The PS3 by PS4 was a husk of its former self, and that's why it was cheaper...and yet the PS4 was only $100 more a year later.
Meanwhile the PS5 is basically the same device with no features removed since 2020, and it's only had a single die shrink.
