@kelin_online @risd Thank you for sharing this! I've been looking for way to incorporate AI into my own course. Would love to follow how this goes!
English

teaching a very experimental class at @risd this fall, on designing software w/ AI in the process + product
here's the syllabus: risd-ai-studio.notion.site
(feedback welcome)
will open-source as many materials as i can

@raphaelschaad @obsdmd has been the answer for all of my note taking and writing. The closest I’ve ever gotten to writing at the speed of thought.
It has extremely powerful search and tagging to make things easy to find later without worrying about filing folders.

I'm leaving IBM, prepping for my fall course and starting a new job soon. Come hang :) twitch.tv/mannimoki

I'm making a dating website where the public can vote on who they believe would be the best matches. But for this to work, I need people who are interested in getting matched up (and having their dating profile be public).
so, are you interested? 👀

@ana_naev @hpdailyrant I agree, and curiosity is key. Curiosity is also something the US education system does not encourage generally speaking. These are all things they need to be *taught* or rather unlearn. They need to be exposed to these ways of working, nurturing creativity + innovation.
English

@ManniMoki @hpdailyrant To guide your students, encourage curiosity-driven queries, break down larger problems into specific questions, and promote learning basic concepts to ask more informed, targeted questions, enhancing their use of generative AI effectively.🤗🤗
English

@hpdailyrant It’s easy for designers as we become more experienced to take for granted what we know and how to apply it in ambiguous scenarios.
The Information age and generative AI have made learning more accessible. But you still need to *know* what to ask. Like recall vs. recognition.
English

@hpdailyrant To put it simply: You don’t know what you don’t know, so what do you ask?
Generative AI output is largely dependent on how it’s prompted and the data it’s trained on.
As a teacher I see this first hand with my design students. Their ability to use ChatGPT is hindered by unknowns.
English

@perfectKeming Can confirm, especially when it's only quantitative data.
