For those who are NOT currently investing for their future into something simple like VOO… At 10% off all time highs, now is a great time to start building your position. No one knows how much lower we go or if this is the bottom. So don’t try to figure that out. Just use historical averages. On average over the last 75 years, drawdown intrayear is 12%… not far from where we are now. Invest what you can afford to not ever think about, no matter how small. Just consistently buy and your future self will be thankful. Especially in dips over 10%.

Addressing my absence… The past few weeks have been difficult mentally and physically. Losing my mother has taken a toll, and I made the decision to step back from the desk. Recognising when I’m not in the right state to trade is a strength. Yes, my A+ setups presented themselves while I was away. But forcing execution without the mental clarity to back it isn’t discipline imo. Those missed trades are documented, stored in my database , and will serve me when the time is right.

One of the cleanest intraday edges on Nasdaq I trade is a simple volatility breakout. Works on QQQ or MNQ/NQ futures. There are many ways to monetize it, but here is the basic version I use: 1. Calculate daily ATR 2. Next day set levels - Today’s open +/- x*ATR - Go long above, short below, with a small stop - Exit EOD. Most trades are scratches or small losses, the outliers pay for the rest Ideas to make it your variant: - Use the overnight gap for directional bias - Add a VIX-at-open filter - Trade only when volatility is elevated - Tinker with x, timeframe, and session filters, but keep it simple Why it works: intraday trends often start with range expansion away from the open, and ATR scales the setup to the current regime. You don’t need a complex model, just rules, discipline, and risk control. Comment "breakout" and if there is interest I will post a deep article showing how to download free intraday data and backtest this idea in Python. You can easily use an LLM to generate and test variations. Follow for more practical, systematic edges you can actually trade. Not advice. Trade small, learn fast.

Dear @MotiveWave users, After some weeks of back and forth regarding the issue in V7 (Windows), the bug I discovered and reported occurs when using more than one monitor, especially at high resolutions. In my case, I have 3 monitors with MW charts in 4K. Unlike V6, the V7 graphics engine does not have the capacity to handle multiple indicators and data-intensive tasks (multi-threading). Despite reducing the amount of data in the charts by more than 80%, it is not possible to have fluidity and it freezes on some occasions. All this with a high-performance PC; imagine what it would be like with a medium/low-performance PC. Unfortunately, MW suggests that the fault is Rithmic or that I have “very complex charts" If you have your V6 installer, keep it safe. Already in conversations with another platform. Have a good session.
