Wavelength app is finally live.
In December, we built an app-less experience. Chat based, completely scrappy. Whatsapp blocked 80% of our messages, emails went to spam. We were literally texting people manually to tell them they had a match.
And it still worked. We matched about 250 couples and people went on real dates.
Then we rebuilt everything voice first. You talk to Wave, she listens, questions, and matches you based on what she actually hears. Efficacy and satisfaction went up by 6x.
Now our app can actually ping you when your match is ready and ask how your date went.
Love is coming to Bangalore.

India’s startup media is broken.
It’s slow. PR-heavy. Full of recycled headlines.
Print is dead.
Podcasts are everywhere.
CNBC feels like it’s talking to traders, not founders.
Funding news breaks as a tweet.
Gets recycled as a LinkedIn post.
Ends up as a reel with a clickbait caption.
No one trusts reels made for outrage and shares.
Same headline. Everywhere.
No depth. No context. No signal.
The real context is buried in WhatsApp chats and closed-door conversations.
We’re about to make it public.
@OfflineOnAir
Live, high-signal, context-first conversations.
Launching soon.
Want to call the shots on what we discuss live?

Recently, Zomato launched Bistro - its own 10 minute food delivery app and answer to Zepto Cafe.
Zomato's Bistro is a masterstroke in backward integration that unlocks far better margins. Bistro > any other restaurant.
Here's how:
1. No platform commissions - restaurants on Zomato pay ~25% as platform commissions. As Bistro is Zomato's own, it's a *massive* direct cost saving.
2. Competitive pricing: Due to not having to pay platform commissions, Bistro can keep food prices low/competitive for customers while maintaining same quality.
3. Better *data goldmine* than any other restaurant: Zomato as a platform has data for what food dishes sell in which neighbourhood across the country and at what price.
Even better, it also knows what food is searched for in a neighbourhood but is unavailable in the present restaurant marketplace.
This means Bistro has enough data to create a menu optimised for dishes + prices.
4. No platform ad costs: Restaurants spend a lot in ads to show up on Zomato's home screen & search. Though Bistro is a separate app, you can expect it to show up on your Zomato/Blinkit screens.
Bistro will still have to run ads on social media like other restaurants, but Zomato's word of mouth is strong enough to drive app downloads on its own.
5. Low raw material costs: Logically, Zomato should use its own Hyperpure (Zomato's B2B restaurant supplies vertical) to supply to Bistro's kitchens. Again, this creates a new revenue source for Hyperpure while keeping costs in check for Bistro.
6. Existing Blinkit dark stores: (Most likely) Zomato will offer to sell a Bistro franchise to existing Blinkit dark store owners. This ensures Zomato does not need to incur capex on setting up kitchens across the country + can get a franchise fee upfront. This is the most efficient model for scaling and they have done this with Blinkit.
Also, it passes the day to day ops + staff management to the franchise owner at the local level.
In summary, Bistro will have better margins than any other restaurant:
- No platform commissions
- No platform ad spend
- Low social media ad spend
- Upfront cost of setting up kitchens is transferred to franchise owners
- Sourcing via Hyperpure
- Menu & pricing optimised because Zomato has neighbourhood level data
If you've actually read this far, please RT + follow.
