@GigaBeers I’m guessing she looks at lot better at 79 than you will at that age

What’s happened to Susan Sarandon?
Sarandon, once the sharp, no-nonsense Louise in Thelma & Louise—a defiant feminist icon who embodied strength, independence, and rebellion against societal norms—now presents a far more disheveled image at 79 that many observers describe as looking downright homeless.
Her recent public appearances often feature mismatched layers, oversized or ill-fitting garments, casual sneakers …an overall rumpled vibe.
Yuck!

@Neurocoaster @JumpinJackMask @vincegallodaily Calling someone a retard for having a different opinion = immense grace but simply expressing an opinion and trying to defend it makes me insufferable- cool, got it
English

@MantaRayDavies @JumpinJackMask @vincegallodaily You are insufferable and the other person handled you with immense grace
English

@abendphantasie @JumpinJackMask @vincegallodaily I guess I’m a philistine because I have no idea who Henri Alexander Levy is
English

@MantaRayDavies @JumpinJackMask @vincegallodaily Henri Alexander Levy has been referencing Gallo in his clothes for the past 10 years or so.
the photoshoot was 100% conceptualized by Henri for his own gratification and for Enfants Riches Déprimés; if anything, that's a tribute to Gallo, not Gallo "trying to be relevant again."
English

@JumpinJackMask @vincegallodaily I like the band U.S. Maple but I wouldn't be naive enough to think that they've made a huge impact culturally except in a very niche sub-genre of rock music, even as their work is undeniably great.
English

@MantaRayDavies @vincegallodaily But Brown Bunny is still inspiring filmmakers and artists though. Also who cares if the general people don’t care for it, that applies to entire genres of films. I think so too, because I can name multiple albums that don’t have any big love but still culturally relevant
English

@JumpinJackMask @vincegallodaily I'm sure plenty of films that were well-reviewed at the time and got praise from other notable directors are only remembered by a handful of people today. Gallo still has a cult following obviously, I think you and I just have different definitions of cultural relevance.
English

@MantaRayDavies @vincegallodaily Well Ebert, the guy that started the hate campaign still gave the Brown Bunny 3/5 stars. Filmmakers Josh Safdie, Claire Denis, Werner Herzog, John Waters, Jean-Luc Godard, and David Lowery all praised it. And even the author of Chainsaw Man referenced it and said it’s a favorite

English

@JumpinJackMask @vincegallodaily If I ever get a chance to meet him, I will!
English

@MantaRayDavies @vincegallodaily Well I don’t know, ask cinematographer Sean Price Williams, he seems to disagree.
English

@MantaRayDavies @JumpinJackMask It has impacted me and I don’t think I’m that special so I’m sure there’s more
English

@JumpinJackMask @vincegallodaily If Vincent Gallo makes a film but doesn't release it, does it make a sound?
English

@vincegallodaily @MantaRayDavies These people love making assumptions while not knowing the bare minimum for some reason
English

@JumpinJackMask @vincegallodaily Has the re-edited version made any impact since then? Does anyone still talk about it today? And yes, I literally said myself that he hasn't released anything since. You should improve your own reading comprehension before calling someone a retard.
English

@MantaRayDavies @vincegallodaily You mean when Ebert got butt hurt about the film because of Cannes new rules then backtracked and said the re-edited version was good? He has literally not released anything since. Promises Written In Water is was put in the vault abd still got praise.
English

@vincegallodaily @JumpinJackMask I'd guess that his "choice" to not release another film has more to do with his repugnant political/social views making him completely radioactive to anyone that might want to finance a project of his, rather than any flimsy claim of artistic integrity
English

@MantaRayDavies @JumpinJackMask He has made the deliberate choice to not release anything after that exactly because of the way the movie was maligned and misrepresented by the press. What he says here about the new artwork might give you some insight

English

@JumpinJackMask @vincegallodaily the last time he got any mainstream press is when everyone talked about how bad this film was 23 YEARS AGO and he hasn't made anything of note since - so yeah, I'd say holding up the soundtrack for one of the only things he's remembered for screams "seeking relevancy"
English

@MantaRayDavies @vincegallodaily Yeah because showing off an album that for a film that isn’t available anywhere totally screams “seeking relevancy”, retard.
English

@FeistyKittyPie no worries, it was my own misunderstanding! that makes a lot of sense, I like the idea of embracing it as something to grapple with, thanks for the reply
English

@MantaRayDavies I can figure it out as I go along together with the client, with help of someone who knows more than me.
So tldr feeling stumped but curious and willing to learn something new is fun. But feeling dumb in the sense of self denigration is not fun. Sorry for the initial mislead!
English

@FeistyKittyPie what about feeling dumb do you enjoy? i've always struggled with getting over this feeling to this day and i wish i could frame it this way but i always end up reacting badly if the feeling lingers for too long...
