Here is an ongoing list of competitions for students to enter - some many not necessarily jump out as 'geography' but what's stopping your students entering science and English compeitions when using a geographical theme? docs.google.com/document/d/1Gx…

Hello @AirCanada I filled out an official complaint with @IndecopiOficial and requested my complaint to be sent to my email. You owe me $816. You have not sent me a copy of my complaint which you are mandated to do by Peruvian law. Additionally you now have 30 days to respond

Obama’s mom Stanley Ann abandoned him by sending him at the age of 10 to live in America while she gallivanted with various men in Indonesia. Obama retaliated by not going to her bedside when she was dying of cancer, and skipping her funeral. That’s the real story.

This Mother’s Day, I’m thinking about my mom, and all the lessons she taught me. I'm proud to honor her memory with the Ann Dunham Water Terrace at the Obama Presidential Center.

Because teachers have a life outside of school, they can be even better in the classroom. Give your best during the school day, then give your best to life beyond work. Rest, family, hobbies, and health — they all matter. Teaching is one of the most important jobs there is. But it’s still a job — it shouldn’t consume every part of who you are. Looking after yourself isn’t selfish. It’s essential.

Oh @emirates you're fantastic. No phone call, no emails, all done on WhatsApp. Incredible. Thate what you call service, that too for an awards ticket. Just look at that timeline.

I’m looking for a year 8 novel for next year which is not hideously depressing. Currently Boy in the Striped Pyjamas on the curriculum and I cannot face another year of it! Everything I have googled sounds dystopian and grim. I would like something inspiring and fun.

Having to fill out the @IndecopiOficial complaint book because @AirCanada hasn’t refunded me my flights after their website crashed and I had already paid them. Honestly I would never consider booking with this airline again as their customer service is atrocious

@MrLGeo Ah Peru . I know a family who lived there for 10 years. It has got a lot more uncertain politically. I hope you have researched life thoroughly. The Falls are stunning though

For decades we have been told that streaming or setting (the grouping of children of similar ability in one class) was ineffective, damaging or even, in words that have peppered academic commentary, “symbolic violence” against less-able children. We were told that teaching in mixed-ability classes was fairer and enabled children of all abilities to shine. At long last, authoritative evidence has shown what many of us instinctively knew: streaming works. #selection-3561.55-3561.232" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">archive.ph/sSqen#selectio… It was a debate enmeshed in the issue of class. It was argued that setting and streaming entrench social division. A report by the National Foundation for Educational Research (NFER) in 1998, for example, said that “concern with excellence after the Second World War led to the popularity of streaming. However, by the 1960s, as educational values shifted … to an emphasis on equality … there was a move from streaming to mixed-ability teaching.”

Another progressive education myth has been demolished - The evidence is now overwhelming: selecting children by academic ability works. Nick Gibb As a qualified teacher with years in the classroom, this has been obvious for decades. The EEF study confirms what we saw daily: setting by prior attainment works. High-attainers make 2 months more progress, disadvantaged pupils are not harmed, and mixed-ability classes often pitch lessons to the bottom; limiting stretch for everyone. Time to move on from the old mixed-ability ideology.

Very humbling driving down the desert expanses of the Peruvian coast Some of poorest living conditions I’ve ever witnessed These fishing villages are actual shantytowns, people living in shacks, no trees, no water, nothing green Just a brutal climate to survive in
