NC minimum wage is still just $7.25/hr. Just paid $5.099/gallon for gas — that’s ~70% of an hour’s work for ONE gallon. A typical 12-gallon full tank costs $61.19… over 8.4 hours of minimum-wage work before taxes. How are working families supposed to keep up when filling the tank eats nearly a full day’s pay?
