About a year ago, I asked Grok about some symptoms I had that I believed were associated with my salicylate intolerance. In providing it with all the relevant info, I mentioned that I also had a magnesium wasting disease and had to take high doses of magnesium or my digestive tract shut down. Grok replied 'sounds like you have Gitelman's Syndrome' and then explained it to me. It advised me that I needed to also be taking potassium along with magnesium and eating a high salt diet, so I increased my potassium intake and a couple of long-time symptoms that I'd never researched or sought treatment for improved greatly. The one symptom I was researching when I came across this is controlled by taking a high dose of salt a few times a day. I've been through one of the biggest medical systems in Washington state and all I got was told I looked fine and one doctor told me he'd done all he could for me and not to come back. You have to know how to ask AI the right questions as I also asked my CoPilot AI about what I could do for essential tremors that I developed years ago from a med I was on. My father had them as does my sister and when I'm really tired or stressed, they start up. I was asking if having a few beers, a week would keep them under control. It warned me about using alcohol for that and suggested I have brain surgery where they remove the top of my skull and stimulate my brain to control the tremors. I have a couple of beers a week and all is well.

I have talked to at least two people in the last couple of weeks, no medical background whatsoever, telling me how they are routinely having medical conversations with AI— really happy with the results, and telling me they think it’s way better than talking to their doctor. I really don’t think the medical professional understands what a complete gamechanger we are witnessing. A lot of arrogant physicians out there have no idea what’s coming!

AI is often wrong . Its wrong because it may scrape unvetted information and be fed an incomplete list of symptoms sometimes enhanced by the patient's own inherent bias about their diagnosis. Trained physicians know how to extract useful information to make diagnoses based on a detailed History and physical exam and appropriate testing . An AI program may provide some useful information but it should never be used in lieu of a competent physician. Its seems you are the arrogant asshole denigrating fellow physicians. GTFOH
