Members of Hajj Watch Ghana have raised concerns over an alleged $200 slaughter fee imposed on each prospective pilgrim, urging the Government of Ghana to engage Saudi authorities to prevent additional financial burden on pilgrims. They note that while animal sacrifice remains a key part of Hajj, the mandatory fee could significantly increase the cost of participation. #ChannelOneNews #Hajj2026 #GhanaNews #ReligiousAffairs

@Studentoft1369 @ghansah_jr Before the west came, Africa was divided based on tribal lines and wars were fought consistently between tribes. This idea that the west divided Africa is infantile at best. The only reason we have countries made up of different tribes is because of the west.

@ghansah_jr It comes down to religion, propaganda, extreme poverty and lack of education, pan africanism is the way africa will unite, the west drew african borders to encourage disputes, they would love what you're saying just now, which speaks volumes

The Minister for Education yesterday announced government’s plans to establish another College of Education (CoE) in Ezinlibo, Jomoro Municipal. I am confused; I need some help here. What’s the policy justification for establishing a CoE in Jomoro Municipal: 1. When Jomoro Municipal shares a border with Aowin Municipal, where Enchi CoE operates at 30% below capacity due to the 2022 admission caps imposed by MoE and where abandoned and uncompleted projects limit capacity? 2. When there are already four (4) CoEs in the traditional Western Region producing education graduates? 3. When UCC’s distance learning centres in the Western Region are also producing teachers? 4. When the existing 46 public CoEs, together with UCC, UEW, UG, and UDS, are producing twice the number of teacher graduates required annually, with over 60,000 licensed teachers unemployed since 2023? Project Ezinlibo is strategically misaligned and lacks empirical justification based on current teacher supply, institutional capacity, and regional educational needs data. For a sector running a financing gap of GHC 16 billion annually, this proposal struggles to meet the minimum threshold for prioritized spending. Do not light a new fire when the old one still burns.-Larteh Proverb!

Tragic news has emerged of the death of a beloved taxi driver, Isaiah, who perished following a head-on collision between his taxi and a bus at Ejisu, near Old Metro FM. Reports indicate that the crash was caused by a recklessly driven Ford Transit. Following the collision, the Ford Transit driver fled the scene, while Isaiah, who had reportedly suffered the loss of both legs, was immediately transported to Living Waters Hospital before being transferred to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

@Zorituus @Kiss_Mequikk Nope. The reason is simple, tribalism in the North is much higher than it is in the south but only one garners much attention.

@Mar_vrick @Kiss_Mequikk The reason is simple. You people don’t travel and settle in other parts of the country and assimilate. It’s nobody’s fault.

Several Asafoatsemei and Asafoanyemei are urging the Presidency to step in and resolve the dispute between Ghana Airports Company Limited and McDan Aviation. They argue that a timely intervention would protect traditional authorities who rely on McDan Aviation’s support, following the termination of its Fixed Base Operator (FBO) agreement over unpaid licence fees, rent, and royalties. The group’s spokesperson, Asafoatse Nidin, called for the decision to be reconsidered. #CitiFM #GhanaNews #ChannelOneTV

@Citi973 There’s absolutely no reason for government to be entangling itself with these matters. Hajj Board and all those things should be left to the leaders of the religion in Ghana.

@Kiss_Mequikk Go to UHAS, UG, KNUST, UCC and you will find northerners occupying positions there but check UDS and see. If we are calling out the tribalism of one person, the same should be done to the rest.

@Kiss_Mequikk Let’s not be hypocrites. Even in the same Ashanti region, a group of people protested the rumored choice of a DCE because the person is an Ashanti. They wanted a northerner appointed but you won’t go to any part of the north and get a position if you aren’t one of them.
