Farmers’ protests surge in 65 countries, yet global food prices are at historic highs. If farmers aren't benefiting from high food prices, who is? grain.org/e/7120
"Our country is on fire and now flooding coast to coast, we cannot afford to lose any more farms. We can address the housing crisis effectively without losing our essential farmland." - Jenn Pfenning, NFU President #Ontag#Greenbeltthestar.com/opinion/contri…
Canada just made a huge decision that will impact the food you eat. Many new #geneedited foods will no longer be regulated by @GovCanHealth or @InspectionCan & biotech corporations will not have to alert the gov, #farmers, or consumers what they are releasing into the market. Safety will be left up to the corporations making the product. The threat to #organic farming, certification, and consumer transparency continues to be a growing concern.
@RachelsNews@GovCanHealth@InspectionCan Thank you for this clear summary of the impacts of the Federal decision to hand oversight of gene-editing over to corporations without requirements for labeling or disclosure. It may be devestating to the organic sector.
@carnetsol And I mourned the opportunity to enjoy the musicality of the Dance of the Seven Veils with the “initially-quasi-consentual?” gang rape of Salome happening throughout its performance. I had to come home to listen to it again.

@carnetsol Agreeing with this entire thread. (Pardon the English.) The directors seemed to think the audience wouldn’t be able to understand nuance, so they hit us over the head with repetitive rape and slaughter. We could have had great conversations about a more nuanced interpretation.
#salome#paris Orchestra and singing are brilliant. 100 min of gang rape are not. Staging and costumes bludgeoned the audience with a sledgehammer. We are smarter than they think.
