@Tigerdog_1 He still doesn’t have what he needs upstairs. By that I mean mentally. He is not strong in the mental department and you need to be that in MLB. He still has great talent, a good arm. But when things go wrong, he tends to make it worse and loses his focus. Very unimpressive.

The offense finally woke up. Probably need at least one or two more runs, but now it’s up to the pitching.

McGonigle now 3 for his last 16. By his standards, that’s a slump.

For some reason, this tiger team cannot hit against the Royals. Just awful. Prove me wrong at some point today.

McGonigle has just been tremendous this year. There’s no question. But he’s not quite on his game offensively right now. And that’s baseball.

Valdez is making a case to become one of my least favorite acquisitions of all time. He certainly going to be in the top 10 if he doesn’t figure this out and soon this year.

Gonna need the Framber Valdez legacy start today.

Valdez is a mental midget. Even if he gets out of this with one run, he’s already going to tax the bullpen today.

I’ve said this several times this year and really emphasized it in his last start, Framber Valdez is a mental case. He does not have strong mental capacity when things aren’t going right.

@FieldDiamond @Castellani2014 The bullpen was certainly a little bit of a factor, but the fact they scored two runs is the biggest factor that’s what it boiled down to. The offense has been terrible this series.

@1kovacs we agree on this. They are not a WS team as currently constructed even with Tarik. That’s why I am all for trading him, especially if you can get at least 1 or 2 pieces back that can help the roster now. They might still be playoff worthy, but they’re not a WS contender.

When Framber Valdez implodes, again, today and we split 4 games w/KC the “don’t trade Skubal crowd” will pivot (again) May was bad, June July good, but team = not a WS factor.

A good outing by Valdez and a tiger win today would help erase that bad loss from yesterday. I think it would. They really need it today.
