Canada's role in taking firm action – often trailblazing – to ramp up pressure against Russia and in rallying allies across the Atlantic to support Ukraine is greatly appreciated by Ukrainians. Ultimately, this is what will help bring Russia's war to an end. Thank you, Mark, and all Canadians for your support and condolences.
Mark Carney@MarkJCarney

Yesterday, Russia launched one of its largest drone and missile attacks on Ukraine in four years. Canada unequivocally condemns these indiscriminate attacks. I express my deepest condolences to those injured and everyone mourning their loved ones. Canada stands with Ukraine as it defends itself against this unconscionable aggression and we will work with allies to sustain pressure on Russia to bring this conflict to an end.

@RevZekveld who said motherhood is slavery? Which feminist writers are you referring to, Nathan? Have you read Judith Butler? You’d like her, I think.

Feminism depicted motherhood as slavery. Young men thought that free love was more free than the goodness of a life-long commitment to a woman and raising 10 children. We have now seen that this has ended in slavery. The freeman is one who is fruitful, works hard and loves God.

@MarcDFroese's statement only shows his complete spiritual ignorance. That's okay, every denomination needs a Judas; and the end times calls for several anti-Christs. False preachers share in the same outcome. Scholarly sources date the Epistle of James to the mid-1st century amid early Christian persecution and socio-economic tensions, there is no evidence of James personally facing a "tsunami of lawsuits." James remained in Jerusalem as a pillar of the church (see Acts 15 and Galatians 2), writing as a pastor to his scattered “brothers and sisters” who were all enduring real suffering - not abstract difficulties. Don't soft pedal the bible. Don't lump every believer and every Independence advocate into the same cesspool you swim in...

Why did Marty take the time to remove his contact information? I thought this was OK to be public and all just random information from a phone book.

The constant raging online is getting completely out of control. At times it feels less like adults engaging in discussion and more like adults-turned-children the moment they log on. Name-calling. Personal attacks. Mockery. Endless outrage. Where are the adults in the room? Disagreement is normal. Debate is healthy. But somewhere along the way, many people stopped trying to understand each other and started treating every conversation like a fight to win. A society cannot function when everything becomes anger, tribalism, and emotional reaction. We should be able to disagree without dehumanizing one another. Or is this asking too much?!

Jeff, you must have been terribly disappointed. 300k signatures looks like small potatoes. Seems our premier was prescient when she changed the rules to help your movement cross a lower bar.
Jeffrey Rath@JeffreyRWRath

BREAKING - CALGARY - 3 days since Mitch Sylvestre turned in 301,620 signatures to Elections Alberta and served a Statutory Declaration on Danielle Smith with no response from the Premier’s Office. No public statement, no congratulatory note to Mitch Sylvestre - UCP Constituency Association President of the Year, no expression of gratitude for the 7,000 hard working Stay Free Alberta Canvassers or the 301,620 hard working Albertans who stood in lines into the dark Alberta January nights because Elections Alberta was so slow to issue canvasser badges… Nothing from @ABDanielleSmith other than a surly silence as she jets off to Ottawa to meet with Mark Carney and receive secret briefings from CSIS as to how they are going to work against the people who voted her into office. Her communications genius Matt Altheim must have worked overtime on THIS strategy.

@RevZekveld @Doubletapp187 I’m somewhat skeptical about whether it would go all the way to criminal charges (it could). But almost certainly David Parker and others will be sued for damages.

Marty and the rest of the secessionist ‘dirty dozen’ love this narrative. In reality, millennials (and some Gen X) will inherit the vast wealth of the Boomer generation.

@RevZekveld The leader of your denomination is a proud Christian nationalist. His postmillenial theology looks forward a time when Christians rule the whole world.

People accuse me of Christian Nationalism all the time. Nationalism is historically a philosophically and morally bankrupt system. I love Christ and the light He brings to men & nations.

@RevZekveld There’s sec 93 of the BNA Act, sec 2 of the Charter. We don’t have a formal separation of church and state because our constitution protects those rights in the Westminster tradition. MAGA’s Christian nationalism advocates for an erosion of the separation of church and state.

The funny thing is that Canada does not recognize the separation of church & state. The King of England is Head of the Anglican Church. People drop terms like MAGA, but the MAGA crowd actually advocate for a far lesser connection of church & state than historic Canada/England.
