@TychoBrahe Instead of reviews for board games, I usually look for videos of it being played, or a @WatchItPlayed video of Rodney Smith explaining the game. Though I do also enjoy @ShutUpShow

I read some reviews of the boardgame My City, and I remembered why you can't turn to this kind of assessment to discover information about the real world. I played this game with my mom (crone) and her best friend (ancient of days) and it's instabuy for any non-mutant weirdo.

@adsk4 I think Pyramid Head is great, but as so many others have said, he belongs in Silent Hill 2, where his presence makes sense in context.

@TheAn1meMan We have those in the US sometimes. I was also a bit surprised the first time I witnessed that kind of storm.

If y’all are in the Greater Tokyo Metropolitan Area right now, you know it’s snowing like crazy (which is already rare) but it’s also thunderstorming in some areas at the same time. I thought I was tripping after I heard thunder, but after some research, apparently it’s called “thundersnow storm” and is quite a rare weather phenomenon. Japan, you never fail to keep on surprising me.

@Hoodie_Milly @MarLife_ The show was bizarre. And the villain of the show was legitimately scary. It sucks because it was just getting into things that could make it really good and make sense, then it got cancelled before there could be any real resolution to anything.

Had a few more thoughts about the AI Art in board games discussion. I doubt I’ll have much more to say on the topic for awhile, but wanted to pass this along in case it struck a meaningful chord for anyone else wrestling with it.

@GailSimone Also if you want to get into Gloomhaven, I strongly suggest starting with its littler version Jaws of the Lion. Much better introduction to the game mechanics.

@GailSimone Gloomhaven is a big hit in our house. Box doesn't get much larger than that. Legacy games are a tough sell unless you have a group dedicated to multiple meetings to play through. Still working on getting a group for playing CLANK Legacy.

I keep thinking I want to buy WAR OF THE RING but I haven’t pulled the trigger yet. People who have played it, how hard is it to play if you haven’t played a lot of these big battle games? Is there a certain edition to look for?

@RRabeeh55197 @GailSimone War of the Ring isn't hard to learn as much as it takes some extra time to learn. There's no fluff in the rule book, and it is wordier than many other rule books. Also buy some color coded bases from an Etsy shop or something.
