Following a successful steam test last wk, we took the only officially British Rail liveried steam loco up to Capel Bangor from Aberystwyth for a trial run. Thanks Ted & Tom for letting me join on the footplate; it’s now in regular service on the Vale of Rheidol Railway.

BR Blue is back: on Vale of Rheidol! I'm now allowed to share news that No.9 will be at the railway's Oct gala in BR corporate livery, last seen 1982. As part of BR, its Class 98 tank locos had modern branding: this lined variant with cab double arrows is in Aberystwyth works rn

@rwjc22 Big businesses - they go through these cycles - everything will turn full circle again - what was crap will be good - what was good will be crap. People will arrive and change things to show they delivered change. I accept that - it’s their train set! I’m old and wise to it !!!
