@NickWritesMusic @piesaac @garrt I've tested this kind of thing pretty extensively with ChatGPT (3 and 4). It's not good at these kind of constrained logical operations, especially in music.

@NickWritesMusic You should write an article about how writing articles about how post production sound and mixing are extensions of composition that feed back into one's music is an extension of the process of composition that feeds back into one's music.

This video is a personal one; my former teacher, Clarence Barlow, passed away a few weeks ago, and this video is a tribute to him. I learned so much from Clarence, and if you like my channel, there are echos of Clarence throughout so much of what I do. youtu.be/Qv5nqDHFN1E

By the way, if you're interested in learning more about composing in Python, I'm teaching a summer workshop starting in a few weeks: ccrma.stanford.edu/workshops/comp…. We're offering a limited number of Diversity in Computer Music Scholarships, so don't hesitate to apply!

You are presented with a strange musical machine. What on earth is it, and what rules govern its behavior? Is it borrowing some of its material from somewhere? Put your best guesses in the comments! youtube.com/watch?v=QRlmQq…

Just released a new version of SCAMP (Suite for Computer-Assisted Music in Python)! Here are my somewhat cheeky notes on the new release: youtu.be/vp9hlGSgAw4

@piesaac This is exactly the kind of self-talk I've adopted to try to avoid going down unhelpful mental pathways

On a personal note, it has been such an artistically and personally nourishing experience to be able to work together in this way, with such thoughtful and generous people. Thank you Liz, Allison, Hanz, the SNE, and Quinteto Latino!

I also put together this a playlist (youtube.com/playlist?list=…) which, among other things, contains the studio recording that we made with Hassan Estakhrian, alongside the graphic score that the ensemble played from.

I recently completed a truly wonderful collaboration with Stanford Biology's Prof. Liz Hadly and Dr. Allison Stegner called "Hearing the Anthropocene," in which I wrote a piece of music based on a core sample they took at Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve: youtu.be/4Y44PQqmtFQ
