over the next week or so, i'm going to be sharing what our teams are working on. first up is a brand new team and an (as yet) unreleased product: messaging. as a shiny new product, the goal of the team right now is to ship a useful MVP and get feedback quickly. to do so, they're planning to ship: - event-driven email, so users can trigger message delivery from webhooks or using PostHog events - automations: dead simple workflows, so that users can customize their event-driven outreach with event, person, and group property filtering, time delays, and exit conditions - gen AI integration: we'll let users leverage Max AI's intelligence for both message content and automated workflows. messaging is going to be our first, but not last, AI-first product - observability: we'll make sure every message sent (or not sent) has clear reporting signals, so that both us and our users can easily understand what happened.

Hackathon today. 30 selected engineers are building cool shit from 10am to 10pm at the Buena HQ. Happy Saturday, happy building.

@pilcrowonpaper It's easier to work with JWT tokens if you have multiple services that need authentication: - main Nodejs backend - @soketirealtime service for real-time updates - @tiptap_editor for collaborative text editing

What do you get from using JWTs instead of regular db sessions? I could see why some auth providers use them since there’s no guarantee their customers’ servers are close to their’s, but that really isn’t an issue if you self host

Honest question: How do people use discord? I’m in ~10 servers and the noise in the app is just outrageous. Every time I open this thing, notifications start popping, things moving, etc. It’s UX hell. And keeping up with stuff is such a pain. Am I getting old or something?
