Guaranteed ways to insult a British person: 1. Accept a cup of tea, take one sip and then leave the rest 2. Don’t put the next customer divider down in the supermarket 3. Criticise their home town when you’re not from their home town (even though they themselves think their home town is rubbish) 4. Park in front of/near their house 5. Fail to realise that they’re in the queue

John Thaw running through a scripted scene on location, shooting Trevor Preston's Messenger of the Gods, the first episode of the fourth and final run of The Sweeney. The title referred to the theft of £30,000 worth of mercury. #SweeneySaturday

Messenger of the Gods remained one of Trevor Preston's favourite episodes, although he felt that making a fourth run was a mistake. "We knew we'd done three good ones. We were worried about denigrating what we'd done before... I don't think the fourth series was very good."

@Danjsalt That's precisely what they think, and what they have always thought. The only difference is that now they are open about their real beliefs and contempt for the average man and woman in the street.

If you think Reform are beyond the pale then you must think the same about their voters or that they are totally stupid Either way it's one hell of a message to send to a growing portion of the electorate who largely hate you already Yet that's exactly what Labour and co keep doing on a near weekly basis

@Danjsalt It's an issue, but they have to find a middle ground. Reform can't challenge with candidates running their mouths off all the time. The MSM will paint them as nutters and support will fall away. Having said that, I'm disappointed at the lack of support some candidates have had.

Funny moments in the last day it so Irish claiming the Falklands should be Argentinian as they're near to the country Argentinians complaining about British colonialism when their entire country is basically a Spanish colony Americans complaining about British imperialism whilst their country wages an illegal war for geopolitical gain

This quote perfectly describes Britain’s relationship with the US. > Completely gutted us in WW2 > Abandoned us during the Suez Crisis > Wanted us to negotiate in the Falklands War > Now preparing to side with Argentina on the Falklands. America is not an ally of Great Britain.

@Danjsalt But we're stuck with decades of integration with their forces and support structures. And we have no plan for untangling them. The biggest issue is Trident. If they pull the plug on that, we're effectively a non-nuclear-armed state overnight.

@BrentHCameron I can see our (UK's) relationship with the US becoming more adversarial over the next few decades. Not just the Yanks sticking their noses into Northern Ireland, but also their desire to steer Central and South America, which may well mean US support for Argentina re. Falklands

Not really This is just pro American run wild Starmer wanted to give use of the bases but was stopped by the cabinet As for the war - public opinion is not in favour of involvement
John O'Sullivan@JohnOSullivanNR

Strong hostile analysis of Keir Starmer's handling of the Iran crisis. By placing Labour's Muslim vote & international law ahead of the US-UK special relationship, Starmer has threatened vital US military support for a Britain already ill-armed & vulnerable in future crises.
