US shares finally buckled under Middle East pressure. They've been holding up better than their international counterparts, but something had to give eventually. The Nasdaq dropped over 2% to take the correction to 10% since the top. buzzsprout.com/1853541/episod…

There's a saying, "markets go sideways on uncertainty" – and that's what we saw today. Price action was flat and yesterday's rally lost all momentum. Brent oil remains around US$104, and the Aussie market remains hostage to the Middle East. buzzsprout.com/1853541/episod…

Interesting chart from Bloomberg – where Australia gets its fuel from. South Korea the largest supplier and has already started limiting exports and rationing fuel. It is a major player in oil refining, home to three of the top ten largest refineries in the world, with total capacity around 3.1m barrels per day, yet produces close to zero itself. Is the 8th largest oil consumer globally, with oil accounting for a third of power used in its semiconductor industry.

You could call it a positive night for markets if you only looked at prices. The S&P 500 rallied 0.5% and the Nasdaq 0.8%. The news doesn't fill one with confidence. Iran is rejecting the Trump peace proposal and has made its own demands. buzzsprout.com/1853541/episod…

The bulls on Wall Street can't get going. There is simply too much uncertainty hanging over the market until we have more clarity around Iran and energy supply. The major indices were down, with the Nasdaq off 0.8% and the S&P 500 down 0.4%. buzzsprout.com/1853541/episod…

Most investors are taught to beat the index.. That’s the game (most) fund managers play. But for you, absolute returns matter more than relative ones.
