As we approach the end of hunting season we are just calling on some help as we have a very long waiting list of Galgos waiting to come in 🙏🏻❤️ These have arrived from Madrid and it’s not just the cost of preparing them for adoption but also the transport costs to get them picked up from the hunters and brought to GDS. In this case we had to use a transporter. We are also in the process of helping another charity pay their vets bills as they can no longer pay or have credit. In an area of much cruelty it’s important their vet can stay open for them as we don’t have the room to bring them all here. These past few days we have been fighting one of the worst dog cullings in Pakistan since we came into existence. Please support not only us but also these organisations who are on the ground trying to save as many lives as possible @HomeStrays @tawf_uk and @anilaumair_ - everyone is literally drowning 💔😢

We don’t usually speak about this. The emotions come in waves—joy, overwhelming joy, then peace. And then sadness. Worry. Anger. Because it is always the dogs who pay the price. Abandonment. The dog-catcher’s pole. The lie of the “public shelter”—stench, screaming, cold wet concrete, food thrown onto filth, bodies shaking through winter nights. There is more. Much more. But we stop here. We went in for one dog. A quiet, scared girl who had stopped eating. She was weak and shutting down. We couldn’t leave the others. Six more came with her. Small, overlooked, sick. Some reserved but never collected. We chose to try, knowing the risk—try, or leave them there to die. When they reached home, they finally understood they were safe. Warmth. Gentle voices. Tails loosened. Bodies rested. One old girl slept apart, wrapped in a new blanket. She took some water, but when she refused food, we knew. Through ice and snow, we drove 75 km to the emergency vet. She died in our arms. We had named her Angel. Parvo and corona had already claimed her, but all we can cling to, her last hours were love and a warm home, not concrete and fear. The next day, we found the truth again—five infected spay wounds, rotting, untreated. Back to the vet. Again. We will focus our anger into strength, because the dogs need us. So few people go in and so few dogs leave alive. We are often their only chance. We will cherish our love for Angel always, focus on building Janie and her five friends, clearing their infections. We will keep going back. In memory of Angel.

Do you know the lady who picked up George? “Our front door wasn’t closed properly and George got out. There is CCTV footage at 3:35pm on Tuesday, 30th December 2025, of him walking to the nearest tree. Then a lady picks him up and walks away with him towards #EarlsCourt, #London along Hogarth Road. That is the last we have seen of him 💔” He hasn’t been handed into a veterinary clinic and not reported to the local animal wardens.
