BRCA1/2 may be telling us a bigger story. A new ESMO Open study suggests that pathogenic BRCA1/2 variants may increase the risk of less common cancers beyond breast, ovarian, pancreatic, and prostate cancer. Signals observed: BRCA1 → thyroid cancer BRCA2 → bladder, head & neck, and skin cancers The most striking finding: BRCA2-associated bladder cancer risk appeared particularly high in females. Avui ha estat un dia molt especial @hospitalclinic #ClínicObert. Hem pogut explicar al carrer el nostre projecte FIS/VIGIA de detecció precoç del #cancerbufeta: una recerca clínica dirigida a persones fumadores o exfumadores majors de 50, basada en l’anàlisi d’una mostra d’orina, sense radiació i sense proves invasives. Durant tot el matí hem parlat amb persones que s’han apropat a la carpa, hem resolt dubtes i hem compartit una idea molt senzilla però molt important: en càncer de bufeta, detectar abans pot ajudar-nos a tractar millor. Aquest tipus de jornades recorden per què fem recerca. No només per generar dades, sinó per transformar preguntes clíniques en oportunitats reals per als pacients. Adiós a @EvidenceOpen en Europa. Era una de las pocas IAs pensadas para médicos, anclada en literatura revisada por pares. En la UE solo quedan LLMs generalistas (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini), sin filtrado clínico. Sin sustituto europeo equivalente. Perdemos una herramienta útil.

Annual #EAUGuidelines Chairs meeting in Castelldefels, a key moment in our calendar to pause, align and look ahead.@Uroweb We took stock of the 2026 update cycle, what worked well, what we should refine, and the priorities for the next cycle. We also stepped back to look at the bigger picture around the Guidelines: methodology and quality processes, dissemination and patient-facing work, leadership development, and the strategic direction for the coming years. Being part of the EAU Guidelines is a real recognition, but also a responsibility. Thank you to all Panel Chairs, panel members and associates, and to the supporting committees and Guidelines Office staff. Your largely voluntary commitment is what makes this work credible and meaningful. It’s a privilege to work with people who care this much. Let’s keep the bar high, and keep moving forward together
