#EAU26 in London was one of those congresses that bring together everything our field should aspire to be: rigorous science, strategic vision, meaningful collaboration, innovation with purpose, and a strong sense of community. Over these days, I had the privilege of contributing across many different spaces: official meetings, exchanges with partner societies, scientific and thematic sessions, discussions around the future of the #eauguidelines , and conversations on how to move from evidence to real clinical impact. For me, that evolution is key. Guidelines are no longer only about producing recommendations. They are also about dissemination, implementation and usability. That is why it was especially meaningful to see the visibility of the Clinical Compass vision, the continued progress of the Guidelines App, the development of CDS tools, and the wider discussion on digital models, including chatbot-based approaches. Another highlight was the #diversity session, which brought strong engagement and an important reminder that excellence and inclusion should move forward together. Very grateful to the @Uroweb family, to my @hospitalclinic team, to the EAU leadership, and to Congress consultants for making these days so rich, intense and worthwhile.!!!!

Sino porque nadie había estudiado cómo funcionaba en un cuerpo de mujer. Dosis estándar: 10 miligramos. Para hombres y mujeres por igual. El problema: las mujeres eliminamos el zolpidem de la sangre un 35% más lento. Ocho horas después de tomar la pastilla, el 15% de nosotras seguía con niveles suficientes para alterar la conducción. En hombres: el 3%. En 2013, la FDA tuvo que intervenir. Dosis oficial para mujeres: la mitad. Veinte años después de la aprobación del fármaco. Y esto no es un caso aislado. Hasta 1993, la ley de Estados Unidos no obligaba a incluir mujeres en los ensayos clínicos. Los medicamentos se testaban en hombres. Se aprobaban para todos. El paciente de referencia de la medicina era un hombre de 70 kilos. Tú eras una variante. En 1991, una cardióloga llamada Bernadine Healy se convirtió en la primera mujer directora del NIH (el mayor financiador de investigación biomédica del mundo). Lo primero que hizo fue exigir que cualquier ensayo financiado incluyera mujeres. No fue fácil. Tardó dos años en que se convirtiera en ley. La Women's Health Initiative que lanzó estudió a 150.000 mujeres durante 15 años. Es todavía el mayor estudio de salud femenina de la historia. Healy murió en 2011. Hoy es 8 de marzo.
