Celebrating 50 Years of @EPP

Addressing the Agriculture Committee in the European Parliament in Brussels on the growing threat of TB to herds and the urgent need for support from the EU. Commissioner Varhelyi responds to my question on that urgent need.

We also gave time to the recent developments around bovine tuberculosis and cooperation between Ireland and Northern Ireland. This is something I raised once again in the Agriculture Committee in the Parliament today.

A productive meeting with the Minister of Agriculture, Environment, and Rural Affairs of Northern Ireland, @AndrewMuirNI We discussed ongoing negotiations on the UK's alignment to EU sanitary & phytosanitary legislation & the impact on the farming sector in Northern Ireland.

The meeting took place during my visit to New York this week for the 70th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, as part of an official mission from the European Parliament. mayonews.ie/news/home/2035…

I have travelled from Ireland to the @UN with one clear message. Deepfakes are destroying the lives of young girls & women across the world. We have failed to protect victims to date, we now need coordinated international action to end the weaponisation of deepfake technology.

🇺🇳 I put a question to the Panel of guests at the Inter Parliamentary Union at the @UN CSW on the rise of deepfakes. How does the panel feel this week after the CSW vote where the justice of a woman & girl online was not protected as she should be?

Preventing and Combating All Forms of Cyber Violence Against Girls Today’s event at the @UN in New York brings together governments, civil society, and industry to examine how we can all work together to prevent and respond to this growing threat. #CSW70
