Sales made me a better founder. I was listening to a podcast about Snowflake and they said something l've always believed: salespeople make the best founders. This hits home because working in sales was honestly one of the best things I did before starting my company. When you're in sales, you're constantly asking: what's the customer's real problem? They wouldn't be here if they didn't need something. Your job is to figure out what that is and help them solve it That's literally what founders do every day. Sales forces you to think creatively. You meet different customers with different needs, and you have to make it work. You can't just walk away. You have to dig deeper, ask better questions, find new angles. The confidence I got from selling to real people, understanding their problems, and knowing my product actually mattered to them? That's what made me believe I could build something people would pay for. Salespeople are problem solvers. And founders need to be problem solvers first If you want to start a company, go work in sales. Even on the side. You'll learn more about your customers than any course could teach you. What job taught you the most before starting your own thing?
