This role for cohesin acetylation in controlling loop length acts independently of its canonical role in protecting against WAPL. Cohesin acetylation rather converts cohesin into a PDS5A-bound state to restrict chromatin looping (3/4).

We show that the cohesin acetylation cycle controls the three-dimensional genome. ESCO1 restricts the length of loops and architectural stripes. HDAC8 conversely promotes the extension of such loops and stripes (2/4).

Today we would have climbed the Alpe d’Hues... Instead we got an extra year to train and to raise more money for cancer research. Another year to have many more rides together! #ad6 #alpedhuzes

We were excited to receive our amazing #TeamRaceForResearch Alpe d'HuZes jerseys this week. But since the #ad6 is not happening this year, we opted for an alternative and went cycling together from and towards the @NKI_nl instead. See you next year in France!
