What if I told you I lost 100 pounds by doing the opposite of everything I was told was healthy? I ate more protein than the average American. I stopped fearing fat and started adding more of it. I avoided the carbs and sugar that most people shovel in like it's their day job. No low fat yogurt. No whole grain cereal. No 100-calorie snack packs. No "heart healthy" labels that mean absolutely nothing. All that marketing on the front of the package? It's just that. Marketing. Not facts. Not science. Just words designed to make you buy it. We've been lied to for decades. Told to eat less and move more while they sold us food that kept us sick and hungry. And now there's a magic shot that supposedly fixes everything so we never have to question what got us here in the first place. I didn't take a shot. I didn't count calories. I didn't starve myself. I just stopped eating the stuff they told me was good for me and started eating real food. Sometimes thinking outside the box is the only way out.

Day 59 of the next 50 years was cardio and legs, and boy oh boy was that tough to get through. It wasn’t hard physically, it was hard mentally. I definitely felt fine and didn’t want to be there. But since we don’t allow our feelings to dictate our actions, I went and everything I could do. Not my best effort, but it was accomplished nonetheless. That’s the ONLY reason I’m in the same shape at 50 that I was at 25…I made no excuses and showed up. 👊🏻💪🏼
