Late last year I was among the first to apply for and get a spot in the government’s help-to-buy scheme. After 10 rentals in 25 years, including social housing support, I bought a home. It’s a humble home perfectly suited to my family’s needs. I NEVER dreamed I’d ever own a home.

The removal of the rebate for private health insurance for people over 65, is grossly unfair. The rebate should have been means tested. Many seniors are low income or on pensions. Their health insurance is often their biggest expense which they struggle to keep. Unfair.
