@MikaelaStiver @DrKirtyBrown @GlobalNeuroNtwk @VDD_Anatomy @krebs_claudia I am definitely planning on using some of UBC's images (especially their cross-sections), but if @VDD_Anatomy wouldn't mind sharing other images that would be awesome! I'd love to have multiple images of the same structures to account for variations & to discourage memorization
English

@MarkAAbbott1 @DrKirtyBrown @GlobalNeuroNtwk I wonder if @VDD_Anatomy might be able to help connect you with some of the folks who have submitted images (distributed under CC) to their site?
UBC's neuroanatomy site (neuroanatomy.ca) also has CC licensed content... maybe @krebs_claudia could give you a hand?
English

@DrKarenPinder Very interested to hear how effective Anki actually is - anecdotally, almonst all medical students seem to use it in at least some capacity!
English

@MatthieuDWeber Glad you found them helpful! Sorry I didn't have them all made for your class though
English

@MarkAAbbott1 Invaluable when studying for our anatomy practicals. Thank you for all your help and hard work @MarkAAbbott1
English

@DrKirtyBrown @GlobalNeuroNtwk The neuro section is largely still a work in progress as I was hoping to find open-access images before diving too deep into it. If ayone at @GlobalNeuroNtwk has access to copyright-free neuro images, I'll gladly do all the highlighting, make all the questions, and submit them!
English

@MarkAAbbott1 If there are neuroanatomy ones, you should submit them to the @GlobalNeuroNtwk. These would fit in well with our peer-reviewed educational repository. The open access images is going to be an issue, but I'm happy to talk this is through if you're interested!
English

@JoyBalta I can share preliminary PDFs in the meantime for anyone curious though, just PM me
English

@JoyBalta I totally forgot about that, I'll request access to those images and will check them out! I haven't made them open-access yet, but that's definitely the plan :) I'd like to (painfully) look over all 6500 questions to make sure there aren't any mistakes before releasing.

Overwhelmed with gratitude after receiving an incredibly thoughtful gift from former @OhioStateMed students. Each time I wear the beautiful Patagonia sweater will be a reminder of all the memories we shared. Missing you all and forever inspired by our time together🥰

@MikaelaStiver @rgmayne1 @RachaelEllen_ @amandameyerphd I still have no idea why visceral in the name… 🤦♂️
English

@rgmayne1 @RachaelEllen_ @amandameyerphd I still use branchial because I despise “special visceral efferent” 🤮 it’s nonsensical to novice learners, and branchial is harmless as long as I provide adequate context (which I do). A lot of textbooks still use it 🤷🏻♀️

Spinal accessory nerve is not a true cranial nerve.
It's GSE, not SVE.
Convince me I'm wrong (provide literature).

@MarkAAbbott1 Does a lesion at the causal end vs the rostral end of a spinal segment still create symptoms AT and below? Just below? That’s why I stick with below (and it avoids the very annoying “UMN + LMN symptoms at ___ myotome(s) simultaneously” error) 🤷🏻♀️
English

#AnatQ for my experienced #neuroanatomy friends 🧠
For intro to motor & sensory pathways, I simplify with the following distinction for white vs grey lesions:
✅ longitudinal SC tract lesions = deficits BELOW lesion
✅ SC grey matter lesions = deficits AT level of lesion
(1/3)

@duneposter So far I've "finished" Head and Neck, Upper Limb, Lower Limb, and Back and Spinal Cord, and am almost done Abdomen. Im not going to make an official release until I finish Thorax, Pelvis and Perineum (maybe in a month?), but I can share with you what I've done so far if you want!
English

@MarkAAbbott1 just wondering about progress for the rest of comprehensive cadaver, i saw your reddit post about the head & neck deck and i love the presentation
English

@AustynRoseboro1 @OhioStateMed Thanks Dr. Roseborough, I hope Dr number 2 is going well!
English

Incredibly thankful for the support and inspiration I’ve received over the last few years during my PhD @OhioStateMed. Looking forward to where this journey takes me next #PhDDone
