I have been hearing lots of debate about Mr Kang Quintus and the children’s mother. As usual, these are the kind of social issues people in the Cameroons love to discuss. They can talk from today to tomorrow, yet no one truly knows the context or exactly what transpired between the couple. Whatever opinions people are putting out there do not really matter. Only Quintus and the children’s mother know the truth about their separation and how the children ended up in Canada. Every loving parent wants their children to grow up in a better environment, so people should just keep quiet. When it comes to the children, whether father or mother, guards must be down to provide and support them, regardless of who made mistakes or who failed to consult the other before any decision was taken. The focus should always be on the wellbeing of the children. That said, the responsibility rests with Kang Quintus. He must ensure that the children are not dragged into adult issues, and that they are supported and well looked after, whether in Canada or anywhere else. That is what it means to be an Alpha male. I also urge the media to give them space. Not every private matter should be turned into public discussion. Let them handle their issues in peace, especially for the sake of the children.

It appears that the so-called Anglophone elite are beginning to accept the reality that the position of Vice President is likely to go to a Francophone. In response, they seem to have enlisted sections of the English-language media to advance their interests and gain some leverage. In my view, it could ultimately benefit Southern Cameroons if Mr. Biya appoints someone from French Cameroon. It may serve as yet another hard lesson for the so-called Anglophone elite. That lesson has been evident since 1 October 1961: the Cameroonian state has consistently shown no concern for what is often referred to as Anglophone Cameroon. If Anglophone politicians are truly serious about representing their people, they must move beyond party loyalties, form a united bloc within Cameroon’s parliament, and advocate collectively for their constituents. Their longstanding failure to do so is one of the factors that has contributed to the emergence of Ambazonia.

@Clarise_Ringyu Nothing will happen. Camerounese can do nothing. Unfortunately, the part of the country that would have done something now has another vision-an independent nation

Recent narratives suggesting that Cameroon has “reintroduced the position of Vice President” are, at best, misleading and, at worst, a distortion of reality. Cameroon has not returned to the Vice Presidency as it once existed. What has been created under President Paul Biya is an entirely different construct—one that serves a distinct political purpose bareta.news/language-truth…

I often ask, if the problem of Camwroon is power-sharing between Anglophones and Francophones. If an Anglophone becomes VP or even president, how does that make us prosper? While i am not against inclusive governance, i strongly differ with those who believe an Anglophone being made VP or President will automatically means a win for us the Anglophones. Except for Seperatists, anglophones who still believe in one Cameroon but believe Cameroon can only be better with an anglophone being MP or president are getting it wrong. We need to get rid of the old order and reconstruct an intirely new Cameroon. Especially one with moral rectitude. That is what we need! Moralization of the nation.

I think language matters, and Cameroun’s media should report with accuracy and facts so people are properly informed. Cameroun has not reintroduced the position of Vice President. What Biya has done is create a VP role designed to ensure the continuation of his regime for decades, even after he is gone. The term “reintroducing a Vice President” would only make sense if the country had returned to a two-state federation. That is clearly not the case. The VP approved today by the Cameroonian Congress bears no resemblance—absolutely none—to the Vice President of the former Federal Republic of Cameroon. The 1972 Vice President position was intended to maintain a so-called national unity between the two Cameroons. What the CPDM has created now is entirely different. This new VP position represents a group of Bulu thieves and henchmen who have stolen Issa Tchiroma’s victory, acting in their own interests and for their families. Please, stop saying that Cameroun has reintroduced the post of Vice President. Thanks.

Thanks for the history big sister. However, what those thieves in Yaounde are doing is completely evil. They have no regards for the Former British Southern Cameroons and trust me, Biya will go ahead to appoint his family member as VP. Camerounese are experiencing day light robbery in real time.

Look at it this way: Cameroun Parliament has no legitimacy, Paul Biya stole Issa Tchiroma’s victory, lacking legitimacy as well. Now an illegitimate president will appoint a vice president who too will become illegitimate and rule over the people, probably for the rest of Biya’s term and someone wonders why Southern Cameroons should remain with these people.

I have taken note of the discussions surrounding the possible introduction of a Vice President in the Parliament of Cameroun, and all indications suggest that an Anglophone may be appointed to the role. However, several important facts must be clearly stated: 1.The position of Vice President, much like that of the Prime Minister, is largely ceremonial and without real executive power. 2.The Vice President will operate in the shadow of the President, with limited autonomy or influence. 3.The appointment will not meaningfully address—even in the slightest—the root causes of the current crisis. 4.The names being circulated are familiar figures, many of whom have played significant roles in the circumstances that led to the present conflict. In conclusion, the creation of a Vice President position risks becoming yet another symbolic gesture. Like many ministerial appointments, it will ultimately serve personal, familial, and political interests rather than contribute to the meaningful development of the Former British Southern Cameroons. That said, we continue to observe developments in Cameroun closely.

The killing of Christians in Nigeria is deeply disturbing and unacceptable. The violence in Jos should prompt both Christian and Muslim leaders to come together in unity to strongly condemn such acts. The government @officialABAT must take more decisive action to protect lives and restore security. It is important to emphasise that those responsible for these atrocities do not represent Islam; they are criminals and terrorists. It is time to begin an open and honest national conversation about whether Nigeria should remain united, including serious discussions about the possibility of the country peacefully separating if that is what is required to achieve lasting peace and security.

Pope’s Moral Rebuke On War: Will The Same Courage Ever Be Directed At Cameroon? On Palm Sunday, in the symbolic heart of global Christianity—St Peter’s Square—the Pope said: God rejects the prayers of those who start wars and have “hands full of blood.” As the pope visits the Cameroons, the question remains: will the Vatican speak with the same clarity when it comes to Cameroon? @EWTNVatican @VaticanNews @Pontifex bareta.news/popes-moral-re…

This young gentleman from COTECC School in Bamenda, Cameroon built an app on an outdated cell phone and poor Internet service that will be live on the app store next week. What would he be able to do with a proper computer and good internet service? The sky is the limit for this guy, wow. What I live about the kids at COTECC is that they don't want handouts, they just want the tools to create sovereignty and prosperity for themselves. So many inspiring stories from COTECC, and I cannot wait to get them out to the world.
