Collaboration is crucial when responding to floods and storms 🤝 We recently sent 6 #TeamEA members to Northern Ireland to help clear hundreds of fallen trees that were blocking powerlines and roads across the country during Storm Eowyn. Take a look at their journey 👇

Heavy rain brought by #StormIsha may lead to flooding in some areas of the country. ❗Don’t be tempted to drive through flood water 🚗Vehicles create waves which can flood nearby properties and harm pedestrians Check your flood risk before travelling: gov.uk/check-flooding

Please help us spread the word - If a road is flooded, turn around and find another safe route 🚗 We've taken around 100 flood-related calls today and have rescued dozens of people - and a dog 🐶 - from cars trapped in flooded roads.

We’ve seen the water level peaks at our key gauging locations pass, but still a lot of water in the catchments making its way through - hence why there’s still #Flood warnings and alerts out. Keep up to date 👉 check-for-flooding.service.gov.uk

Please don't drive or walk into flood water. Flood water has hidden dangers - maybe a lifted manhole which could expose you to the risk of falling into drains from which you can't escape. You are at risk and those who might be called upon to rescue you.

I'm honoured and humbled to have been awarded an OBE in the #NewYearsHonours. This is, however, really a recognition of the importance of the work we all collectively do in these fields to make the world a safer, more welcoming and inclusive place. Thank you for all you do too.

Please, please listen to this advice. #River levels are high & likely to get higher over the coming days. We've got #flood barriers out in various locations across #WestMidlands exactly because there is a #risk & we want you to be safe. Don't be a #flood tourist. Just don't.
Environment Agency Midlands@EnvAgencyMids

Every year on average there are 73 fatal alcohol and/or drug-related accidental #drownings. Stay safe, look after one another and please steer clear of the river’s edge this #NewYearsEve.⛔ #DontDrinkandDrown #RespectTheWater @NWSFweb @RLSSUK
