I remember when Johnny Carson and Dave Letterman ended their shows. The last week of episodes were an event -- great anticipation of who the guests would be, and the shows were epic.
No one is even paying attention to Colbert -- no one was watching leading up to the last week.

The original Springsteen fans who were there when he burst on the scene with a couple of great early albums are in their 70s now. I became a fan in late 70s, and I'm in my mid-60s.
His first 3 albums -- the ones that made him -- were Jan. '73, Dec. '73 and Aug '75 -- 50 years ago!!!!!!!
Had Johnny Carson done the same thing he would have brought on Bing Crosby to sing "White Christmas" or the Glenn Miller Orchestra -- both of whom were among the most popular musical acts in 1942.
Letterman ended his show in 2015, and his final musical act was a long-time favorite of the show -- The Foo Fighters.
Had he gone the Colbert route, he would have tried to book the Beatles -- could have been a problem.

Patrick Bailey hate is unwarranted
This team needed better pitch calling & defense on a regular basis. Average/above average offense from a catcher is icing.
Not everyone is going to be Sandy Alomar or Victor Martinez. Appreciate what they do for the pitching staff.
