@EdmOilerlytics PIT with Brett Kulak - .660 points%
PIT without Brett Kulak - .593 points%
PIT with Sam Girard - .571 points% (all games without Crosby and some without Malkin)
How do you call yourself an analytics guy when all you look at is goals against lmao
English

@EdmOilerlytics As a Penguin GSAX
Jarry +6.61
Skinner +6.84
They have been virtually the same goalie. Skinner has just seen far more difficult scoring chances than both Silovs and Jarry.
PIT points pace before trade-99
PIT points pace after trade-103
Basically the same team
English

Since Pens fan need things read slow and clarified.
This season:
Jarry on Pens: .909
Jarry on Oilers: .855
Skinner on Oilers: .891
Skinner on Pens: 0.889
Pens: .909 to 0.889 📉
Oil: .891 to .855 📉
2nd rounder does not make you better this year. Kulak had an off year.
Edmonton Oilerlytics@EdmOilerlytics
That Jarry - Skinner trade somehow made both teams worse.
English

@EdmOilerlytics @Crazy_FN_Bill Do we really think it's on skinner when PIT has been horrible defensively because of #58
Skinner is positive. That's far more than you can say about Jarry lol

English

@Crazy_FN_Bill Coming from a penguins fan.
4+ goals against in six of the last eight games.
Are you okay ?
English

@johnpuck1992 @Michael71854833 Remember, Luchanko's NHLe for his OHL production is at 26 a full season later LOL.
Some of the closest OHL production comparables from the past 10 or so drafts for Luchanko's D+1 and D+2 years are Othmann, Senyshyn, Colby Barlow and Max Jones. I can pull other leagues as well
English

@Chrisdyer777 @johnpuck1992 @Michael71854833 flamesnation.ca/news/predictin…
Read and learn for yourself. And Konecny in his D+2 year was already a contributor in the NHL. He had an NHLe of 45 in his D+1 year and with reasonable growth, could be projected to be a 60-70 point guy which is what he is.
English

@Chrisdyer777 @johnpuck1992 @Michael71854833 thinking he is the next Tage Thompson or some other late blooming superstar. For every Tage Thompson, there's 20 Tyson Josts, a player that has some talent and can stick in the league but is not a difference maker.
English

@Chrisdyer777 @johnpuck1992 @Michael71854833 if you're expecting him to be a future 2C. He's probably more like a 3rd line winger given his struggles as a C in the OHL. He offers a 2 way game and can still be a useful player, like a Warren Foegele type.
I'm not saying he's bad, I'm just saying to temper your expectations
English

@Chrisdyer777 @johnpuck1992 @Michael71854833 There are far better prospects than Luchanko and there's just no reason to be so attached to him. That's why it makes sense to dangle Luchanko if some team is still awfully high on him because of speed and nothing else or because they believe he is an outlier.
English

@Chrisdyer777 @johnpuck1992 @Michael71854833 It's more than just an NHLe model that you don't seem to understand. He lacks strong offensive tools and just isn't highly regarded. Look up scouting reports, look up redrafts.
Or just listen to the above report from Craig Button.
English

@oley4424 @CharliegNFTeth @OverDrive1050 Makar, Quinn, Dahlin, McDavid, MacKinnon, etc, all don't have the years of control Schaefer does.
I really do think it's just Celebrini unless you are specifically trying to win this year, not just any random team for long-term
English

@CharliegNFTeth @OverDrive1050 If it’s a random team… I’d easily take Makar, Q Hughes, Dahlen all have almost a decade left of peak play left.
I’d take any of them.
But you’re right, from an Isles perspective, it’s only Celabrini.
English

@Chrisdyer777 @johnpuck1992 @Michael71854833 Of course not. He has great skating, but a lot of players do. He doesn't provide much offence and you and I both know that his most likely role in the league is as a bottom-6 energy/speed guy, maybe a PKer.
English

@Chrisdyer777 @johnpuck1992 @Michael71854833 The fact that Luchanko is a 2nd/3rd line winger in his D+2 year in the OHL after a lot of top players left for NCAA should tell you a lot.
Could he turn into something special? Sure, growth isn't linear. He might be a late bloomer like Tage.
Is that worth betting on?
English

@Chrisdyer777 @johnpuck1992 @Michael71854833 NHLe has a pretty strong correlation with future NHL production. Why on earth would you throw OHL stats in the trash.
Laughton is basically a 3rd/4th liner. That's kind of the upside outcome for Luchanko.
There's a lot of elite skaters that don't amount to anything.
English

@MarkDBD_ @johnpuck1992 @Michael71854833 The point being, you can take the junior stats and throw em in the trash
Some players take longer (Laughton)
Jett has NHL skating, we'll see how he does in the AHL next year
The story is the 24 draft class is 3-4 yrs away from being written, all determinations are premature
English

@Chrisdyer777 @johnpuck1992 @Michael71854833 Frost comparable isn't really valid because there's a million of junior scorers that don't translate. There's very few examples of first round picks that can't produce in junior that translate (at forward)
English

@Chrisdyer777 @johnpuck1992 @Michael71854833 18 points in 30 AHL games as a 20 year old is far more impressive than 26 points in 27 OHL games as a 19 year old. There's a worlds difference between the two leagues.
Also, Tage and Lucic are not really comparable as they are much bigger players lol.
English
