@NickZararis Patrick Kane being clutch, so I asked Grok:
Career games 5-6-7’s
44 GP
24 G
28 A
52 PTS
1.18 PPG
Unbelievable

@CharliegNFTeth @OverDrive1050 If it’s a random team… I’d easily take Makar, Q Hughes, Dahlen all have almost a decade left of peak play left.
I’d take any of them.
But you’re right, from an Isles perspective, it’s only Celabrini.
English

@OverDrive1050 Literally the only player in the NHL you would entertain here if you are the Islanders is Celebrini, and probably not even that. Schaefer has a team friendly salary for multiple seasons and is 18 years old.
English

@OverDrive1050 Doug Armstrong would give Robert Thomas if the Isles through in a 1st.
The real list is:
Celabrini
Makar
Q Hughes
R Dahlin
That’s it

BREAKING: Canada 🇨🇦 is F*kd
STAGFLATION WARNING
Canada just lost record full-time jobs
Economy is not growing
Gas prices are surging from global conflict
Trade uncertainty USMCA Ending in 3 months
This is the worst-case scenario
Inflation exploding + economy imploding
The Bank of Canada TRAPPED
Cut rates → inflation explodes
Raise rates → economy breaks
That’s stagflation. Caught in a ROCK and a HARD place.
Imagine having an economic DEPRESSION with RECORD HIGH inflation = Welcome to Canada 🇨🇦
English

@JoeyTweeets Actually she said she doesn’t want them to “feel” like they need to carry it to be safe.
It’s always about feelings.
Never about facts, data, and practicality.
English

@LalimesMartian I’m in the extreme minority, but I’m fine with a tie.
5 minutes of 5 v 5 OT would be fine.
No loser point
English

@baconator_fts @MikeBartner Bro, Rangers and Hasek knocked off some all time teams.
I said Dangerous, not cup contenders.
You basically made my point.
English

@oley4424 @MikeBartner You can’t win in the playoffs with just goaltending. Rangers have showed us that for better part of two decades with Hank and Shesty

@FAN590 @RealKyper @jtbourne LMAO
Dubas was let go by Shanny because he wanted to deviate from the Shannaplan by TRADING Marner, and Trading for Erik Karlsson.
Retrospectively, Dubas deserved Carter Blanche
English

"I think some of the criticisms in the last 3-4 years are unjustified... They were unsuccessful, but to deviate from the plan they were on was potentially premature."
Cal Clutterbuck joins @RealKyper and @jtbourne to share his perception of the Toronto market.
English

@FAN590 @SamAMcKee @RealKyper @jtbourne Imagine…
Dubas was let go due to autonomy issues.
1) he wanted Eric Karlsson whose been magic.
2) he wanted to trade Marber, who left for scraps.
Wow! What a mess Shanny created by wanting a puppet instead of a GM
English

Could Kyle Dubas be the next GM of Team Canada?
@RealKyper, @jtbourne and @SamAMcKee assess the Penguins executive’s fit after Doug Armstrong announced he was stepping down.

Has Pronger laid out that blueprint anywhere? Serious question, I'm open to listening. Most of what I've seen has been some form of "Winning teams have winners, like me, a winner"
Habs Jabs@oley4424
@JeffVeillette 1) he is precise in how a winning team should be assembled. So at least we’d know the criteria to evaluate him on. 2) could he ever assemble it?
English

@JFreshHockey @SportsWageringT @JeffVeillette Really? Look at the list of teams that rush the process vs ones that actually stuck it out. Need the core pieces first,
Many teams sign role players long term first, move picks too early in the build.
English

@oley4424 @SportsWageringT @JeffVeillette in fairness this is basically the model for how every NHL team has been constructed for the past 30+ years
English

He’s an ex-player who used to play like fans want the team to be now (disregarding that finding another Pronger is near impossible), and he speaks somewhere between Business Course Salesman and an AI chatbot, so people will eat anything he pushes up
Willyston Riellander@nylanderthews
Genuine question for Leafs fans: What is the appeal with Chris Pronger for President? I get he was a fierce competitor on the ice, but I'd be targeting someone who has NHL executive experience for that role.
English

@SportsWageringT @JFreshHockey @JeffVeillette Absolutely untrue.
Here’s a list of teams that perpetually rush the process and push for playoffs, not a Championship:
Cgy, Van, Sea, Stl, Nsh, Bos, Tor, Otw, Phi, NYR etc.
Ownership must be on board.
That’s where the President/GM convince ownership not to vary from the plan
English

@JFreshHockey @oley4424 @JeffVeillette Which means that ...
it is also nowhere near 'detailed enough' to get the job done, since according to many some version of THIS is what almost every current NHL team is also trying to do right now, including the down-trodden Maple Leafs.
English

@ParadisoReale @JeffVeillette Not a single cup champion post lockout leans on their 3rd D pairs.
Go back and look at Vegas, TB, FLA, COL, PTS over the past decade.
Not a single 3rd pair D averaged 15+ minutes
English

@oley4424 @JeffVeillette all the best teams, of course, have a scoring 3rd line.
and none of them have throwaway 4th lines and 3rd pairs.
English

@Tom735105885827 @brendanshowbiz True, and the time they started Monty 4/5X in Dec when Dobes was hot
English

@oley4424 @brendanshowbiz other options were to start dobes..
people couldnt understand why monty was getting starts when dobes had an excellent win-loss record
English

@JeffVeillette 1) two scoring lines
2) defensive 3rd line
3) energy 4th line
4) top 2 D pairs 1 puck mover 1 stable
5) defined role for every player, success is mastering that role
6) 3-5 Stars win championships, need role players to support stars
7) need top 3rd G
All mentioned in 1 interview
English

@JeffVeillette He was on the Sick Podcast with Tony Marinaro, and while vague in parts, there’s some precise takeaways I’ll list below…
English

@SportsWageringT @JeffVeillette 1) two scoring lines
2) defensive 3rd line
3) energy 4th line
4) top 2 D pairs 1 puck mover 1 stable
5) defined role for every player, success is mastering that role
6) 3-5 Stars win championships, need role players to support stars
7) need top 3rd G
All mentioned in 1 interview
English

@oley4424 @JeffVeillette Please outline clearly in what way you believe he has been precise, thus far.
