@Peter_Fitz I read recently, can't remember where, about a power bank of retired car batteries charged by solar used as a charging station for EVs.

Really? My tired EV battery can become home solar battery? Is that a thing? Fabulous, if so!
Paul Smallwood@SoutherlyBusker

@Peter_Fitz At the end of life for car transport, the EV battery can be repurposed, e.g. as a home battery. Once the media stops messaging for Fossil Fuel (e.g. inviting the likes of @BjornLomborg and @jordanbpeterson onto panels), people will be angry about being lied to.

@stationmum101 Very funny. I once rolled a 2000gallon tank down a steep driveway behind a VK Commodore lol

Another reason I should stay off the hobby farmer pages - the temptation to say "kick it down the hill & have someone at the bottom to stop it" is too strong.

@stationmum101 I did near Uki NSW. Every morning I'd climb up on a big fence post, clamber on the back of a lovely mare, ride her bare back no halter across the paddock to the shed and feed her boiled oats. My grandpa and great uncle ran a team of 21 between the wars at Tarlee.

Don't think I've ever met an Australian I didn't like. Super direct. Low threshold for bullshit. Can take a joke. Turns out that the prison island idea is pretty solid.

@mcnaughthelen1 Your tweet appeared randomly so I've followed you because I'm invested in the results. I've done purple figs wrapped in prosciutto with blue cheese, honey and walnuts which was delicious so I reckon your recipe will be as well.

It seems I need to again point out that I did not do a radio show with Molly Meldrum. Although I do enjoy being mistaken for Gavin Wood. abc.net.au/news/2026-03-1…

I have dubbed the two geckos living in my back courtyard Larry & Harry. 🦎🦎 But today I noticed they have a little baby gecko too. Must be adopted.

@juliettemm I have a drawer full of 'clean' individual socks and most days I manage to pair up some unfolded socks. I add, that I always wear clean socks, just not folded or always matching. (Usually matching...true).

Every year I plant leeks to harvest from autumn to spring. Some bolt to seed so these ones are going to be a trivet under a roast chook adding a subtle flavour to the pan gravy. Also the last pumpkin from 2025 and some giant marties.

Absolutely. Australia now has one of the most segregated education systems in the OECD, by social class but also by religion, race and gender. How does this help social cohesion? thesaturdaypaper.com.au/comment/topic/…
