We hope the tool helps to close gaps and open minds - flagging up service developments that could help to reduce admissions and helping clinicians to consider existing alternatives to admission that might be better for the patient.

The Criteria to Admit Decision Support Tool is a support reference tool to provide guidance when making decisions on patient admission. Not to replace clinical judgement, this tool is designed as an aim to help decision making. Follow link for more info future.nhs.uk/ECISTnetwork/v…

ADASS The announcement provides no additional funding to enable us to deal with the overwhelming workforce pressures and increased levels of need that we are experiencing right now, and that we will soon deal with what is likely to be one of the most challenging winters on record

So ADASS has looked at all the papers from Government and read the small print and confirmed what we had guessed that there is no new money for adult social care for the foreseeable future.

Today’s announcement on #socialcare is a step in the right direction. Countries with decent aged care systems (Netherlands, Germany & Japan) all have a funding mix of taxation & national insurance but it’s what they do with it that matters. Improving quality and staffing are key.
