Today, MPs backed a Bill that makes our asylum system fairer: fairer for genuine refugees, and fairer for local communities This new Bill ensures protections are in place for genuine refugees, while tackling abuse of our asylum system, and lightening the burden on local communities. We are bearing down on uncontrolled, unsafe and illegal small boat crossings - and moving towards capped, safe and legal routes for genuine refugees.

The Iranian regime is the world’s primary sponsor of terror abroad. It threatens the safety and security of the British people, including our Jewish community here at home. I welcome the Government's decision to fulfil it’s promise and designate the IRGC as a threat to the UK.

🗣️ Weekend round-up 🗣️ 📚 On Friday, I was delighted to meet last week’s fantastic work experience students. They had spent the week learning the ins and outs of working in an MP’s office, and everything involved with supporting constituents and the wider community.

It’s time to stop dodgy donors. That’s why I tabled an amendment to the Government's Elections Bill, calling for requirements to check obvious red flags. The door must be slammed shut in the faces of foreign hostile actors. There's no room for dirty money in British politics.
