@MarkRalston @hampdenroarpod @andy_bargh @scotlandscoeff1 @Calum_Brown99 5 CF's is more than enough, I'd have left Dykes. Could've definitely used another midfielder (Miller) or another wide/pacey option.

Three right-backs in the squad. How necessary is that and why? 🏴
Shape? Fitness? Reliability?

@parkie1909 @hampdenroarpod @andy_bargh @scotlandscoeff1 @Calum_Brown99 Yes it's a waste of a pick. Agree with Tierney assessment also. Should have taken another striker . Or even Lennon Miller in his place.
English

@hampdenroarpod @andy_bargh @scotlandscoeff1 @Calum_Brown99 3 RB's & with KT better than 2 of them, no need for the 3rd. I'd have taken Patterson who offers something going forward, there's no need at all to bring Ralston, who tries but is simply not good enough. That one is a waste of a pick.
English

@hampdenroarpod @andy_bargh @scotlandscoeff1 @Calum_Brown99 I don't think it's as technical or thought through as that. I think it's simple loyalty.

@_onlyscott De-Bruyne and Fabregas above Zedane is a just silly.

@Dashytwo Some of the best food in the world is in Denmark. It's a culinary giant.

This is literally the worst culinary region in the world

@JamesMurphyTips @Marc29124 He was awful against Greece away. He done a lot wrong in that game.
English

@Marc29124 Who would you have? He's not starting Shankland all of a sudden and Adams is far better than Dykes.
As for Souttar, he's not really done much wrong for Scotland, only real alternative is Hendry.
English

@JamesMurphyTips We all have opinions.
I would swap Souter for Hendry, and Christie for Ferguson. But maybe Christie bigger attacking threat. Souter has been poor all season. So definitely Hendry for me.

This is the strongest Scotland XI, and anyone who says otherwise is wrong

Steve Clarke has named his Scotland squad for the 2026 World Cup 🏴🏆

@LM93CFC @ScotlandNT @FIFAWorldCup McKenna is left footed , not good having a left footed player playing in the right side of defence.

@fergie133 @ScotlandNT @FIFAWorldCup Ferguson has been outstanding of late. He was the best player on park against Denmark for me. Christie for me losses the ball to much
English

@ScotlandNT @FIFAWorldCup Christie and Ferguson are awful for Scotland. Hanley, Patterson, and Ralston are a waste of jerseys.
English

@RangersTruth @ScotlandNT @FIFAWorldCup I don't mind Adam's and I like Hendry, agree with other two.
English

@ScotlandNT @FIFAWorldCup Grant Hanley, Jack Hendry, Anthony Ralston, Che Adams and George Hirst

English

@PureDeadGaming @ScotlandNT @FIFAWorldCup We don't need a third right back or Hanley. So those two spots could have went to McBurnie and Miller.
English

@ScotlandNT @FIFAWorldCup Wouldn't even give Hanley or Ralston tickets to sit in the stand personally, but options are limited. Big performances needed 🏴
English

@g3mijlof @ScotlandNT @FIFAWorldCup I will be backing them 100%
I follow home and away. However we are all still allowed opinions.
For me we don't need three right backs. So Ralston out. Hyam out, Dykes out, Souter out. Findlay
Miller , Bowie , Mcburnie in.
That's a better a squad.
English

@ScotlandNT @FIFAWorldCup Every cnut moaning aboot the squad, it is what it is, time to back any boy who wears the dark blue LFG SCOTLAND 🏴🦁💪 🏆
English

@ScotlandNT @FIFAWorldCup Why Hanley, Ralston, Adams and Dykes?
English

@ScotlandNT @CameronD72 @FIFAWorldCup McBurnie & Bowie should’ve been ahead of Hirst & Dykes.
Don’t even get me started on Souttar, Hanley & Ralston. 🤦♂️
English

@ScotlandNT @FIFAWorldCup Will be supporting England instead of these shitebags 🏴
English

@coatbridgeghirl @ScotlandNT @FIFAWorldCup He retired from International football after euros. That's why.
English

@ScotlandNT @FIFAWorldCup No idea why Callum McGregor wasn’t called up. Very dissapointed in you Steve, Callum is probably the best midfielder in Scotland atm
English

@scotball_ Sentimentality to me is no way to pick a squad by, maybe a wedding invite but not a World Cup squad. 2020 was six years ago. He isn't the player he was then, and he wasn't amazing then. When does better in form players get a chance, Is it when the average past it players retire?
English

The Lyndon Dykes Question:
Does Dykes still deserve a World Cup place?
Disclaimer: I love Lyndon Dykes.
It's easy to forget what he has done for Scotland: Leading the line like a warrior in Belgrade to help us qualify for Euro 2020, the winners in the Faroes and Norway, fighting for the shirt every time he takes to the pitch.
However, his lack of form ahead of the World Cup is stark. Dykes scored five league goals in 41 Championship appearances for Birmingham and Charlton in the season just completed.
These numbers stand in contrast to a number of other Scottish strikers of a similar physical profile:
(2025/26 league goals):
• Oli McBurnie: 17
• Kieron Bowie: 12
• George Hirst: 11
• Ross Stewart: 8
Dykes also has just one goal in his last 21 Scotland caps.
His game isn't all about goals, Dykes has proven his ability to lead the line effectively for Scotland over the years. He is brilliant in the air and can be adept at bringing our midfield talent into play.
However, these are attributes which the likes of McBurnie, Bowie, Hirst and Stewart also possess.
I think team spirit was a major factor in Scotland's ability to qualify for this World Cup, with Dykes at the centre of this, but at what point can loyalty hold us back from maximising our chances of success?
I fully expect Dykes to be selected and I will back him to the hilt in the States, but if the squad selection were a meritocracy, he wouldn't be included.
For me, Lawrence Shankland in particular is a lock for the squad, and I also believe Ché Adams' mobility and all-round game makes him stand out.
This leaves two striking spots left: Who from this shortlist of five would you go for?
Let me know your thoughts. 👇🏻

@Estadio_Jamor @theweeflea @chris_sutton73 I think the hand ball was soft. But I can see what it was given. Just because it was last second of game , doesn't change that. It maybe does emotionally but not factually. The Maeda one on other hand for me was not a penalty.
English

@theweeflea @chris_sutton73 Maeda being knocked to the ground by the Motherwell goalie was a clear penalty . Why not comment on that ? Makes you sound anti Celtic.
English

@Protestia If your going to be disappointed if the Dali lama and Gandhi are not there. I wouldn't get stressed because you won't be either.
